Why is reward going down?

in steemit •  8 years ago  (edited)

Het guys just a quick question.

Why is my vote only 30 cents at 100% when it was 36 cents before at 100%? Is it because of steemprice at the moment of voting?

And why are rewards of posts going down? Is this the same reason or does downvotes have something to do with it? Can you check how much downvotes a post has had? If you know anything about it pls make a comment.

I also heard somerhing about when rewardpool is realoczted to more or other users.

Thanks for your time!

The opposite happens when the STEEM price goes up, works both ways. Just my observation. It's not because you have been down voted.

Frequency of use affects the payout.

I've seen Steem price going down steady for today, and if you're voting too much your voting power might go down as well.
Here you can see the stats here: https://steemnow.com/ just put your user name on the top right, and you can see your vote power and move the slider. I hope this helps a bit.

Knowledge is power :)

It is because steem has gone down in value in the market. I know the feeling too, I lost alot of money like that this week. ):

Dont panic family janet yellen isnt running the show we are 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 One Love!!!!!!!!!

Yea steem prices go up and down, its just like bitcoin. bitcoin is down a lot right now.

I have been thinking the same thing. I just put it down to devaluation in the post. But the price of steem going down makes sense

I've been seeing the same thing. I'm betting it's a combination in de-valution of Steem and the sizing of the reward pool (more posts, more new users, etc).. I don't know for certain though.

So more users means less weight on your vote then? What when tobs of people decide to join steemit over the comming months slash years?

I think they're working on changing the on-boarding process for new users in the proposed HF 20, so it doesn't dilute the value of Steem in the same way that it does now. I didn't completely understand it, but when a new user is created (provided you're not creating a second/third/etc account), you're allocated a certain amount of Steem or Steem Power or something which adds to the overall pool of Steem and therefore dilutes the overall value of everyone else's shares.

Don't quote me on this, maybe I just read the post wrong :)

Yeah, I only had some small payouts that got wiped out today. I'm not too disappointed about it, though.

I've noticed this too. I'm not worried though.

Steem on brother!
