Got a Steemit Question...Anyone know who to ask?

in steemit •  7 years ago

My question? Easy! How does one keep losing money without
doing anything? Anything wrong I mean? In the past week I
have had over $300 taken from my wallet, dollars taken from
my posts? Does this sound right or am I missing something?

Maybe it will help me better understand why most of us are
NOT giving anyone else upvotes or promoting them.

Who controls the money, by the way? And is this all fed
by the owners of Steemit?

So while I am on Facebook and making money, without
losing it at all, why does this happen too often here?
Anyone?

How d you make money on facebook? Ads? Is it not because the value of steem went down?

It is all based on the price of Steem itself. As it goes up or down so does the value of your wallet and the value of your pending payouts. the pending payouts are based on a three day average price of Steem if I am not mistaken. As the price of Steem rebounds so will your numbers.

thanks for comment....disconcerting to see your "money" leave your hands....so now another question if I may....is there a way to get money out of here, without buying bitcoins or whatever? where are the "rules" of engagement? thanks.

I actually just found out about another way! I plan to do a post all about it once the card gets here and I have more details on all of the inner workings. Also going to be doing a short interview with the owner of the site. But, check out https://steem.cards . there is a $7.95 card activation fee and $2.95 shipping fee. That is better than most Bitcoin fees you will wind up paying though. You can get a Visa Gift Card or gift cards for various other places like Amazon, Best Buy and more. But you can essentially use it as a debit card at an ATM or anywhere Visa is accepted. They don't have a calculator built in, so you won't know the final cost until after clicking Complete Order, but you don't pay anything until after you click the button to go to Steem Connect on the page after that. But you can do some math beforehand to know how much you want on the card, based on the current price of Steem being about $3.80 and the price of SBD at about $3.20.
Disclaimer: Like I said, I just used it, and am waiting on the card.

Others have mentioned it here, but it needs to be said clearly: The US dollar value shown below your posts and the US dollar value of your wallet changes as the price of Steem and SBD goes down and up. This is one of the many unclear things about the way steemit works. It's easy to misinterpret and make incorrect assumptions about how steemit works or "pays off". Everyone, myself included, should read and reread the FAQ and other articles written here on steemit while applying one's critical thinking skills about the information and its sources. A lot of my writings are about my questions and learnings in this area.
