Gained 100 Steemit Followers in 1 Week - My Thoughts on Steemit - Good thing we're still in BETA!

Hello everybody. I've never made an article on Steemit before as I'm a photographer and only use "Steepshot" the "Instagram version of Steemit". Here are some photos that I've taken and posted before.

This photo was taken by myself with an extremely high quality camera, very minimal filters and edits were done on this photo.

As well as this one which is the view of the falls in Canada from the top of a building, again only using minimal filters and edits.

Anyhow, from only using Steepshot and uploading my photographs I've gained myself a 102 followers at the time of posting this which is amazing, posting my photos on different social medias like Instagram basically got me nowhere. Yet, some of my pictures have comments, some of my pictures don't have comments, some of my pictures have likes, some of my pictures don't have likes, it's a very unstable platform and you'll never know if a post will do well or not. But this is fine for now as I've only been on Steepshot and Steemit for about a week, and for the amount of followers I've gained it really is impressive. Now you must be thinking to yourself, "Wow! You earned quite a bit of followers, and your pictures look pretty good! I bet you've made a decent amount of money posting these, eh?"
Well guess what? From gaining 100 followers within a week and having high quality photos and popular tags I've earned a whopping...

Couple of cents...

Don't get me wrong, it's awesome that I earned anything and made myself a bit of following, and I've only been here for a week, I shouldn't expect a lot of money, and I don't expect a lot of money. But here's the thing that throws me off about Steepshot, Steemit, DTube, DLive, Busy, etc.

Nobody is really earning anything.

I see low quality, quick posts and pictures on Steemit and Steepshot ALL THE TIME, yet they're making hundreds within hours, minutes, or even seconds! Why is this? Well the simple answer is bots. Yep, bots and buying upvotes to throw yourself onto the frontpage. Most if not ALL the posts making hundreds of dollars are from the author buying upvotes to make their account or post look more popular so they'll get genuine upvotes, which only ends up leading to a few hundred actual dollars at most, which honestly sort of sucks.

I mean clearly a service like this would try to be gained, people just want money. But what about the people actually trying to blog, upload photography, or make videos legitimately, well they're left into the dust. I'm not sure I can even think of any actual blogger on here making actual, genuine, money from legit blog posts, which was the entire point of Steemit, a new way of monetization and sharing.

We shouldn't be able to upvote our own posts.

We shouldn't be able to make bots that gain the system

We shouldn't be able to buy upvotes.

Although this service was made extremely strategically, and well, I've done heavy research into Steem. The minute I heard about it I was extremely fascinated and did non-stop research until my account got approved, this will probably be my only post as again, I'm a photographer and I LOVE how Steepshot works. But again, That's why we're in beta.
