So far I have earned only less than $2 after one week. Despite active voting but limited posting. During the same time, my adsense blog has made $25 per day on average. Not sure if I am still going to carry on posting here but I think I should switch to mining steem which is much easier then spending time contributing contents.

Yes at the end of the day it is steem power that matters. So basically Steem wants you to lock payout for 2 years and allow the value to compound. Very similar to MLM concept.

Blogging or upvoting on steemit is generally not profitable at all. I mine Gridcoin, Solarcoin and Siacoin on my computers so no spare capacity for Steem, but give it a go and see if its worthwhile.

Honestly it is disappointing with such a setup. I am considering whether should I invest $5,000 and boost up my steeem power. Then setup an exchange with other high steem powered members and cross vote each other contents thus bypassing other members since other members have low steem power which means earnings are low from their voting. You can try that but the issue here is not about the quality nor quantity of your post but to get users with high steem power to upvote. Which means you must invest into steem power before you can see anything meaningful in your earning. If you noticed some of the post by members who have $1k+ earning, and look through all their post. You can see that most of them are earning less than $2 per post. Which means that $1k plus massive earning is a one kick phony and not susbstainable. Thus the only way to have substainable high earning is through high steem power investment.
