You probably have read posts here in #steemit about people losing love and interest for Facebook and how much people love #steemit. Here's my take on why you should leave Facebook for #steemit and why you should do it now!
10 Reasons Why You Should Leave Facebook For SteemIt
- There is money to be had in #steemit when you post valuable original contents. Facebook doesn't give you anything even if your post goes viral. Well, the satisfaction that it went viral is a good thing. Still, no monetary value for you.
- Not 1. Not 2. But three (3) ways to make money in #steemit. (1) Your post gets paid when it gets viral; (2) When you comment to a post and people love it by upvoting it; (3) When you upvote other people's posts and they go viral.
- You will be challenged here in #steemit to do original work. Facebook does not encourage that. In fact, Facebook tolerates it and doesn't care whether you copy someone else's work.
- We are all stakeholders of #steemit! We are part of its economy no matter how small your stakes are.
- We police our contents to ensure we only get what's important and of value to the community.
- Meet new exciting friends from a "different world". A world of collaboration and cooperation to achieve one goal. For everyone to earn.
- Get involved with the digital currency revolution. Because this is the future of money. STEEM will be the next BitCoin. Be a part of internet history.
- An opportunity to share your earnings to those in need of help.
- An opportunity to achieve financial freedom.
- An opportunity to free yourself and do what you always wanted to do.
1 Reason Why You Should Stay With Facebook
You are comfortable where you are.
And that's perhaps the most important thing to you. Change is uncomfortable, sometimes painful. You don't want to explore "other worlds" because that will entail learning new things by trial and error. You don't want to leave your friends and family. And that's important, too.
But you will be missing out the opportunity of your life. And that's probably NOT okay.
So make the decision now. Or you will find yourself someday regretting you never made this important decision.
For those who aren't aware, Steemit did what other Social Networks attempted to do: Give users full credit for their own produced content, and pay them.
A few other websites such as minds.com and another I can't quite remember the name of, have approached the FB giant from a similar angle, but were not able to get people on board. This platform is giving people an outlet for creative and intellectual expression, without the requirement of setting up convoluted and complicated funnel systems, which usually take their own cut.
In a sense, Steemit has the essence of the pre-2005 internet, where it was your own responsibility to brand yourself, and the community responds.

I'd say YouTube is rather a close estimation of what steemit might become. At least in principle of rewards. And you're right to say that, "This platform is giving people an outlet for creative and intellectual expression".

Don't get me wrong, I hate facebook, but what's to stop you blogging on Steemit and posting to facebook? You gotta get your friends over here too. And it's not as good a layout as facebook yet.

Good point @jonno-katz. However, sharing my steemit blog, especially this one, to facebook is to convince my friends to make the switch. As ironic as it may sound, I will have to leverage fb's platform and use it against fb itself. 😈
