Can I buy one of these with STEEM?

Yes, many would say. Will Burger King accept STEEM for a burger? Can I buy a discounted TV set at Walmart using STEEM? Or my favorite novel from Amazon?
If I am able to use STEEM like I use BITCOIN or the fiat, there is no stopping STEEM to go crazy like it should. Perhaps I'm just imagining things but for something to be really of value, it has to be needed at some point by some people somewhere. Right now, STEEM seems to be just something we trade, doing BUY and SELL. It may seem profitable to some of us who are in Steemit and other trading cryptocurrency sites. But for the rest of the world, how does STEEM fare?
When BITCOIN started and when I started to learn about it in 2010, it was pegged at US$10. After a year, it reached US$1,000 and movies, TV shows, and other entertainment media made reference to BITCOIN. Shops and other businesses started accepting the Satoshi-designed cryptocurrency. Even with so many detractors, BITCOIN still managed to elbow its way even to VC's and financial institutions.
STEEM may have a different path to stardom but I know that one path to effectively provide REAL VALUE to STEEM is for people to use it in their daily and even mundane life.

I am no economist but it doesn't take one to know that the value of a thing depends on how much it is needed. No, I am not talking about buying STEEMit merchandise with STEEM, although that would contribute to its value. I'm talking about buying household commodities, everyday items we use in our kitchen, diapers, etc, etc, etc.
With all the cryptocurrencies growing out like mushrooms, STEEM has a lot of challenges ahead.
We can start with the Steemit community offering merchandise not only revolving around Steemit memorabilias but items that people need on a daily basis.
I don't know but in my humble opinion and knowledge, to make something valuable, it must be needed, then demanded. STEEM must find its path to stardom, then to immortality.

Thanks friend @onlineprds. When I joined last year, STEEM was $US2.60. Some people said it was overpriced yet it actually was $4.00 before I joined. Getting to $10 will be a challenge unless STEEM's intrinsic value is supported by the community. Like I said, if people are able to use STEEM to buy common goods on a daily basis, STEEM will definitely rise. But that remains to be seen, my friend. Crossing my fingers here. Hopefully by next year. But that's just my wishful thinking ;-)

Going to be keeping my eye on your posts going forward. I think STEEM stands a chance of paving a path of it's own if there is a utility purpose outside of buying/selling - as you mentioned.
