[STEEMIT REALITY CHECK] IF NOT FOR THE PROMISE OF WEALTH AND MONEY, THEN WHAT IS STEEMIT GOOD FOR?

in steemit •  8 years ago

Call me "naive" but I have high hopes for #STEEM and #steemit.

Just be to honest.  I AM HERE FOR THE MONEY I WAS "PROMISED" TO GET WHEN I SIGN UP. That's the HARD REALITY.  And just like any other venture in business and in life, YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR YOUR SUCCESS.

But I try to look way past THE PROMISED WEALTH. This is where reality sits in. And it sits beside you like a devil that it is, whispering you WON'T make it way past $7 SD.  So better be ready to deal with reality and do something about it.

So, IF NOT FOR THE MONEY, WHAT IS STEEMIT GOOD FOR? You know I love to have a list. So here's my list why STEEMIT is still a BETTER deal BEYOND the PROMISED WEALTH:

  1. I LOVE THE CHALLENGE of writing.  Writing quality contents 4 times a day is a challenge, at least for me. But I know it's for my benefit. Not for anybody else. For ME. You might want to read http://www.lifehack.org/articles/lifestyle/benefits-writing-why-you-should-write-all-the-time.html and see  my point.
  2. I GET TO MEET BEAUTIFUL AND SMART PEOPLE. And people whom I can mentor (as I need mentoring myself) to share whatever help I can. Helping others and being appreciated is a lasting reward no STEEM DOLLARS can match.
  3. GIVES A WHOLE NEW MEANING TO MY LIFE. I have mined Bitcoin and LiteCoin for a while but as time went by the difficulty of mining made it so much harder to maintain. With STEEM, an emerging crypto-currency where you can "mine" by creating quality content, is a new opportunity that I don't want to pass up. No way! I may not be good at writing but I can definitely learn.
  4. I CAN GO BACK TO MY CODING.  And for those who are not into coding, maybe it's time for you to learn a few things here and there. Piston, Phyton, JavaScript, CSS, RubyRails, DJango, and so much more. Educate yourself!
  5. I HAVE A STAND ON SOMETHING. Advocacy is a powerful thing. It gives purpose why we continue to live and not just exist in this world. Advocacy gives hope not only to others but to yourself.

Call me "naive", but this is how I see it past all the rewards. And if I ever get $20K out of this post, WHY NOT?

IF NOT, LIFE GOES ON. I will keep on doing what I always do since Day 1 in STEEMIT. And whether I get $0.01 or $10,000 for my post, there are some things more valuable beyond STEEM DOLLARS. And they are more lasting than any WEALTH can offer.

Go, STEEMIN' AWAY!

Yes, it's nice to see someone not begging or asking for money. Or complaining about how unfair the system is and how they never get votes. Hard work and the right attitude is the way to go.

Thank you for your kind words, @neoxian. There's just some things we cannot control. At least not by complaining. But we can always change our views and feed them with the "right attitude" as you put it.

I make it a point to follow people who share similar vision and outlook in life. And I believe you are one of them that's why I'm FOLLOWing you. If you have time, you may find the reasons why FOLLOW is a big word in my book:

I'm new so I'm still trying to figure this out, but I think one of the cooler possibilities of the platform is that it's harder to brigade and mass up posts to hid others because you have to have skin in the game to move topics.

that's why it's a challenge. people think they can just post anything then expect to earn steem dollars. that's where they get disappointed. then if someone gets tons of rewards for their post, then they get disappointed, too. not that they are jealous but they wished the had the same "LUCK " as the other guy. And I am one who don't believe in LUCK. If there is such a thing, it is because we forged it ourselves and it turned out to be a beacon of light for everyone to see.

Thanks for dropping by. I will FOLLOW you now and here's the reason why:

Thanks. Followed you back. It seems like the key is making content you'd like to make anyway, which is kind of the key to life. I bet some blogger personality types too would do really well on here because the offer point of view and feel less headline grabby.

Sweet... So kind of you to feature my post. Will definitely upvote that post ;-) Thanks a million!

great post i will be featuring it in my daily pick of hidden gems

Wow! Thanks for that. Means a lot to me.

You have a new follower in me.

Writing can open new possibilities...making money on the side is an extra for me. Awesome opportunity for ordinary dudes like us.

... and the possibilities are endless. Thanks @jgraci78 for dropping by.

I like your vision!

Thank you @veryscience. "Without vision, the people perish." I hope everyone shares the same vision.

I would like to FOLLOW you and maybe someday work on a unified vision for #steemit.
