How to Revoke Access and Remove content from DLive

in steemit •  6 years ago  (edited)

I know plenty of people are probably going to be asking this question at some point. I'm making this post as much as a link to drop for them as anyone else interested. If you would like to revoke posting authority from your account:
https://steemconnect.com/revoke/@dlive.app
(updated, thanks @drakos)

(Please note that link works for any app if you just change the end to the correct name, which you can find on steemd.com as seen below. Shout out to @followbtcnews witness)

Now this next part is a little annoying, but we're going to have to go to dlive.io and follow these steps:

  • Click the drop down at the top right after signing in:

  • Go to each video or stream you want to delete and click edit video:
    image.png

  • Click delete at the bottom right. Repeat for each video as an easy way to manage your content clearly doesn't exist on this site.

Hopefully this guide is useful to people that don't want their content getting dragged onto another blockchain and would like to keep it exclusive to the steem blockchain, like me. :)

You can also use this link below just change the username for the name of the account you want to revoke.
https://v2.steemconnect.com/revoke/@username

For dlive: https://v2.steemconnect.com/revoke/@dlive.app

Thankyou Kubby :)
That was very painless.

SteemConnect has deprecated the v2 subdomain. Use https://steemconnect.com from now on.

Good to know, thanks buddy. :)

I've got hundreds of videos, that's way too much work lmfao.

Good post, though! Will link drop when relevant.

I hear ya, it just took me like 30 minutes to delete all of mine. It is what it is, I just don't want them getting taken elsewhere.

Eh, the way I see it, it'll be just free advertisement. Not worth my time anymore tbh.

Wait, dlive is going to another blockchain? Is this because dtube does live streaming now? I've been wondering how that all.would work out.

I don't really care to waste time speculating, but after reading over their last post it sounds like they basically just used us for free money and to try to steal some of our community before starting their own chain. I don't know how much of it is true or not and I'm not really interested enough to dig for the details, but ya the TL:DR version is they are bailing on the STEEM platform.

Thanks! That's all I need to know anyway. They were redundant after dtube added live streams, so it's time for me to bail I guess
