Reading a recent article on SteemIt makes me think that I can own the domain name Cleanshave.Steem.
(*I looked for the post but couldn't find it again.)
And why shouldn't I?
I would rather have that on my business card than Cleanshave.com**
(**Which is currently owned by someone else.)
What if the whole .com thing was practice for this thing we now call Steem?
I know we are still in the early stages, but what if the .com's weren't restricted to the technology then, what if they weren't restricted to outdated forms of payment like fiat currencies?
What if the form of currency was built into the engine?
What if Las Vegas could print their own money?
If the currency was only good there, but you could buy in with Euro's or USD, would you still do it?
Las Vegas is interesting in the fact that it is widely considered the first post industrial city in the world. It doesn't manufacture anything beyond the experience of Las Vegas.
And since 2012 entertainment has been considered part of the Gross Domestic Product.
We are an information based society.
Or quickly evolving into one.
And isn't it about time that we put the means of producing, and monetizing, the entertainment of society into the hands of people who could not only benefit from it, but make the lives of participants better for their interaction.
Because if there is one thing I have learned in the last decade, it is that not everyone wants to make things. Most people, despite what they may tell themselves and their friends/associates, are merely consumers of entertainment.
And SteemIt is not a new Facebook.
It could be so much more.
Can we please just let creativity grow?
Just this once?
I promise you it will be awesome.
