Project hope and curation trail on steemauto.com - brainstorming

in steemit •  5 years ago  (edited)

INTRODUCTION

Since you're reading this post - it means that you're most likely invited personally by me and please don't resteem it.

Past few months has been really great for @project.hope and we've managed to build some decent community already. Many people on Steemit knows already about our efforts. We've also managed to receive support of over 200k SP in form of delegation.

That is obviously awesome. However I'm hoping to reach one more MILESTONE before 2019 will be over and I would need your help.

Basically I would like to bring more rewards and solid upvotes to those of you, who are part of this project. Especially those who decided to set up 10-20% beneficiary to @ph-fund (project hope future fund account).

Right now each time you share your publication related to blockchain, AI, technology, economy, business, steem, psychology etc - I'm upvoting it few hours after it's being active with both accounts: @crypto.piotr and @project.hope (together over 220k SP).

I WANT TO DOUBLE IT.

I would love each of your publication to receive upvotes coming from at least half million SP. And I've been wondering how to achieve that ...

Obviously receiving more delegations isn't going to be easy. It's very time consuming and my impression is that since HF21 took place - most users prefer to curate themselfs and enjoy receiving increased curation rewards.

At the same time I believe, that most users wouldn't mind to support our content with 2-3 upvotes daily. Especially if they could profit at the same time.

You may ask: how could people profit from supporting our posts with upvotes? Let me explain :)

CURATION TRAIL

My idea is to start Project HOPE "Curation Trail" on steemauto.com and encourage others to join. Name of this curation trail: @ph-fund

This curation trail would be VERY different from those that I studied so far:

  1. all publications supported with our curation trail are the same ones, that are resteemed on @project.hope (average only 2-3 posts daily) - so everyone can see witness for himself/herself what content are we supporting and see it's high quality.

  2. MOST IMPORTANTLY: after upvote from ph-fund will be placed - few hours later one from @crypto.piotr and @project.hope will follow (220k).

This way anyone who follows this curation trail will maximize it's voting power and will receive higher rewards. After HF21 it's important to place our upvotes before other strong upvotes will follow.

Let me give you an example:

Results are quite impressive. Don't you think? Voting power of user having 15k SP ... more than doubled .

Let me know if it make sense to you guys? I think it shouldn't be difficult to encourage users with over 300k SP total to join Project hope curation trail. Adding over 200k SP from our upvotes -> and we will reach mentioned half million in upvotes :)

Does it make sense?

WHAT HELP WOULD I NEED ?

Just few steps, some easy, some difficult:

  1. obviously I would like to get some quality feedback from you (comment section below)

  2. visit steemauto.com and follow @ph-fund "curation trail" with 100% of your upvoting power

  3. I'm planning to run marketing campaign to promote this idea and I would like to know who would be willing to write his own publication encouraging people to join this curation trail and post it on your own profile.
I think that best time to do it would be around 26-27th dec (after christmas, but before new years eve).

Hope I can count on some of you guys. I'm aware that not everyone may have time. However I would like to finish this year with a big BOOM and I hope I can count on you :)

Cheers
Piotr

Sort Order:

Hi, I was brought to this post from @juanmolina and wanted to say a couple of things about it as an outsider.

While I understand that curation rewards are better since HF21 and there's more incentive to get a bigger account to reward high effort content, my first reaction to this post was that this does feel a little bit like "gaming the system" to me. This is the first time I've come across your project so I want to help where I can and apologise if I have the wrong impression.

What is the content you're going to be curating? How are you going to curate it? Is it just limited to your members? Some more detail on this would be great!

To be honest, I'm pretty against anything automatically upvoting unless it's a curation trail that has clear checks on plagiarism, spam etc and the content has gone through two checks from manual curation before giving a vote. Seeing auto-votes from accounts coming in at the 3-5 minute mark to "front-run" is not what the STEEM platform is about in my opinion but I digress (not directed at your project, more a general rant).

So some feedback from my point of view, take it or leave it of course, it's your project:

  • If you can show how you would deem content to be worthy of this double upvote then I think it would be a great initiative for transparency purposes.
  • Maybe you can have this first upvote/curation trail only for certain people who have been valuable members of your community but I'm not sure it should be worded as a "guarantee" (I think the emphasis should still be on the manual curation and keeping people on their toes so they don't "get used to the upvotes/curation rewards) - you could almost gamify it in a way.

Anyway, I wish you luck with the project, I'll follow it so I can see what's going on, it sounds like your heart is in the right place :)

hi again @nickyhavey

I hope my previous reply wasn't to long and didn't put you to sleep :)

Hi @crypto.piotr

I've tagged you in my latest blogs, i've sent you my #lnbt tokens as donation https://steem-engine.com/?p=market&t=LNBT and still haven't got anything from you ...

I didn't got time and i'm still not so active in commenting on blogs ... beside upvoting on some of your requests that i've been able to observe through your memos ... but i've created finally something that i think might help the community through my art/music.

You can check it out on my blogs and my webpage https://luciannagy.com/?p=3137 as well.

Some of the next phases, IF people will start to support my #lnbt i'll send steem-power to accounts like your @project.hope and many other accounts.

Hope you'll spread the nooze about my https://steem-engine.com/?p=market&t=LNBT so people will start to invest.

I've already donated to those who upvoted my two blogs related to my #lnbt

Hope to hear some feedback from you and feel free to start trading your #lnbt inside @steem-engine

Regards

Dear @luciannagy

I'm sorry for such a late reply. I'm trying to follow all comments/posts where my name is being tagged - but it's just to much sometimes and even 3-4h daily on steemit is sometimes not enough.

Hope you'll spread the nooze about my https://steem-engine.com/?p=market&t=LNBT so people will start to invest.

How popular is your project so far? And could you share link to post explaining what LNBT is about?

Yours
Piotr

Hi @crypto.piotr

I've thought you've checked my blog about this

https://steemit.com/africa/@luciannagy/luciannagybalkumbatribetokenwhitepaper-createdinsidetheawesomeplatformofsteemit-elj9d1j6qv

Also here is the link where people can invest/trade their #lnbt tokens.

It started already to become a proposal among musicoin artists to implement my #lnbt as a form of payment for recordings/rehearsal sessions inside some of their studios and first of them who came with the idea is @recording-box

I think this will grow very organic day by day.

Feel free and spread the nooze and this link https://steem-engine.com/?p=market&t=LNBT

Soon as i 'll have more steem and i can invest from my #lnbt i'll delegate steempower for you.

I think even through that i'll be able to support @project.hope and @hope.venezula and other accounts inside the ecosystem of steemit.

Hope this find you well and you'll agree with me about my concept.

Regards @crypto.piotr

CURATION TRAIL
Does it make sense?

I have my own personal experience related to this:

As you can see, my average curation is low (Maybe 0.04 SP), but with this post that I highlighted I got 0.135 SP.
This happened because I voted before this publication was curated by @curangel and @project.hope.
Then it demonstrates what you propose.

Making this technical approach in a publication, it would not be difficult to convince several people to join the trail.

This variant that you have incorporated into the dynamics of what we know as a curation trail, certainly gives added value to the concept in general.

I have a couple of doubts:

  • If I join the trail and the trail votes for my post, then I would be making a self-vote. How can we address this?

  • People who join our trail would may want that their posts curated by @project.hope. In this case, what would be the demands we could make to cure them? Would they have to be delegates of a minimum of 1000 SP? Would they have to publish within the theme of our group? The fact of belonging to the trail, doesn't the possibility of being cured imply?

Many questions, uh?

You can use steemrewarding to create a rule where you don't upvote yourself when following a curation trail. As far as I know, the steemauto site doesn't have this functionality yet.

Thank you very much for your valuable comment brother and for visiting the publication. You are very attentive.

No worries, I did leave a full comment on some feedback as this is the first time I have come across the project

Hopefully we will find many more people with the same collaborative spirit you have.

If you want to learn more about our project then you are cordially invited.
We currently have a passive income program based on SP delegation.
In our discord and telegram channels, content creators can share their work for greater expocision and exchange of ideas with members of our small community.
In addition to the small trail we also have a couple of accounts: @project.hope and @crypto.piotr with which we can give upvote that is currently around 700K SP and will support our content creator members.

Excuse me if I extended too much, I don't want to look like a merchandise seller. I'm sorry.

Hugs!

Haha no worries mate, can tell there's been a lot of work gone in to this and 700k SP is massive actually, congratulations on achieving this. Looks like there's great things being worked on here!

If any of your community would like to get involved our monthly contest (@yourtop3), I think there's a good opportunity for everyone to have fun and develop reasoning skills, whilst getting engagement and of course a chance to win some STEEM.

700k SP is massive actually.

For the most part these are the product of delegation by the members who benefit. That is one of the advantages of the project.

I'll take a look at @yourtop3, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your valuable feedback @nickyhavey and for sharing your thoughts.

I already replied. I hope my reply isn't to long to read :)

Cheers

Helpful, thanks.

You´re welcome.

Nice. I am already on the trail.

It will be good if you can describe what kind of content will be curated by this trail in your marketing campaign. If you are just going to vote for content within this community then there will bound to be people saying that it's circle-jerking.

Thanks for the initiative!

That's a great opportunity, thanks for putting so much effort into this. I've followed the @ph-fund "curation trail" with 100%.

Thanks @btcsam

Do you use discord? I would like to keep in touch with you a bit closer, since we seem to share some similar interests - and now I've learned that you're based not far from me (im Polish).

Cheers
Piotr

@crypto.piotr Yes, I do use Discord. My username is "btcsam", if you want you can contact me there.

Hi again @btcsam

Sorry for such a late reply.

I do use Discord. My username is "btcsam", if you want you can contact me there.

btcsam#.... ?? what are those 4 numbers following your username? :) maybe you can add me? crypto.piotr#3426

ps.
Can I ask you for little favour? I joined contest called "Community of the week" with project I manage and I would be grateful if you could RESTEEM it and help me get some exposure and drop some encouraging comment :)

Link to my post: on steemit or on steempeak

Thanks :)
Yours, Piotr

@crypto.piotr I've sent you an invite on Discord and also resteemed the "Community of the week" post :)

Nice!!
Just followed!
You should add the #steemleo tag on that kind of posts!

Thanks @cryptomaniacsgr

I'm not sure how did you find this post since I didn't try to promote it and I even posted it on my 'dead' account. Thx for your encouraging words.

ps. from which part of Greece are you? Just curious :)

Yours
Piotr

Someone resteemed it (don't remember who).
I'm living on the city of Chalkis, it's nearby Athens.
(@cryptomaniacsgr)

As usual, my non-tech brain cannot follow all your fine ideas. But I trust they are truly fine. All the best with this initiative.

hehehe @majes.tytyty :) I always love your replies. you're making me feel super-smart :P

ps.
did you ever use steemauto.com? If you didn't then perhaps I could guide you and show you how to join this curation trail?

Plus I'm curious how much would strength of your upvote increase if @project.hope would upvote some content which you upvoted previously.

I've noticed that you upvoted your post with 50% voting power. I will upvote this post sometime tomorrow and compare amount of rewards you would receive before and after 200k upvote from @project.hope. I'm sure it will at least double :)

Cheers,
Piotr

Hmm, again, I'm getting confused. You say I upvoted my post at 50% voting power, but I thought I had them set for 100% on SteemDunk.

Whatever you do, keep me informed if you learn something lucrative. (One thing I do understand is that more money is always better than less. :-) )

Hello dear @crypto.piotr. I think it's a great idea what you are trying to do and I know you will succeed.

visit steemauto.com and follow @ph-fund "curation trail" with 100% of your upvoting power

Now I am attached to the curation trail of @ph-fund, I will set the vote to 100% because I am not sure I have it set up like this.

I'm planning to run marketing campaign to promote this idea and I would like to know who would be willing to write his own publication encouraging people to join this curation trail and post it on your own profile.
I think that best time to do it would be around 26-27th dec (after christmas, but before new years eve).

Excellent idea, I know that many here are going to be willing to help you with that, with such an interesting idea, this friend is destined for success, it is an idea that benefits us all and will increase the level of rewards we have now.

In what I can help, I will help. After all my social life (for various reasons) is quite off and I have no plans for that date.

I just have to put together some idea and beg that they do not take away my electricity frequently, or the Internet signal, or anything else that can complicate my life more than is already normal here :)

No plans for any christmas date Pedro? :)

Hopefully your electric power won't die down during this time of the year.

Cheers
Piotr

I also want everything to work :)

Hi @coach.piotr

Ready, already set my vote to 100%
And I am number 10 LOL but I would rather be number 11.

Yours.
lanzjoseg

I like your new profile picture @lanzjoseg

Looking so professional! :)

Hello, buddy! I've never been on steemauto.com before, so configure the curation trail like this:

ph-fund.jpg

Did I do well?

Dear @jadams2k18, @juanmolina

I believe that "wait time" should be closer to 0 :) So your upvote would happend right after @ph-fund upvote (which means, that this publication has been resteemed and "market" for later upvote by @project.hope and @coach.piotr)

Also go to dashboard and change settings: Upvote Mana threshold = perhaps 90%:

Hope it was quite easy to set up. I'm currently looking for way of setting up steemauto so it would avoid self-upvotes (which may obviously happen if we follow curation trials).

Yours
Piotr

Got it

Hi, I think it's fine, I can see that you did it in the "curation trail" section because it's the only one I know that has the Method column.

It is good that you adjusted the default settings, because it is charging only 50% of the voting power of the account that you follow, that is, any percentage of vote that makes the account you follow, your account would only do half, I prefer to do the same as you and put the vote at 100%.

Another thing is that I thought of loading it as "FIXED VOTING WEIGHT", but I preferred not to do so and let the @ph-fund account set the tone for the vote.

trail ScreenShot_20191216190819.png

I see that you are number 7 (according to a friend that is good luck hahaha) I came to be number 9 ... without alludes to Tim Burton...

Source

Hi @pedrobrito2004

Another thing is that I thought of loading it as "FIXED VOTING WEIGHT", but I preferred not to do so and let the @ph-fund account set the tone for the vote.

I'm not sure if I understood. What do you mean by "let the @ph-fund account set the tone for the vote." ?

Personally I would recommend to set up "fixed voting weight" to 100%. However I'm not sure what's the difference between "scale voting weight". My impression is that first one (fixed) would mean, that you will always upvote post with 100% (assuming that you will set it up at 100%).

ps
I'm currently looking for way of setting up steemauto so it would avoid self-upvotes (which may obviously happen if we follow curation trials). Especially since @culgin mentioned that some users can see our curation trail as another "circle-jerking" group. Which I obviously want to avoid.

Any idea is steemauto.com does offer such an option? Or perhaps you could help me and find out who is behind development of steemauto.com? Apparently it's @mahdiyari - I'm going to try to contact him and ask if he could add such a feature.

Yours
Piotr

Hi.

I mean that in some cases I follow curations accounts and they vote at 80% or another amount, so when adjusting that the vote is in scale, whatever percentage they use to vote, it will be the same percentage that my account will use for vote. That's what I did with the @ph-fund trail

Sorry I can't help, I arrived by fortuity at the steemauto site a few months ago, but I'm not so good at using it as to know the answer you need. As for contacting the developer, it's something that I fully support, for sure he could help.

Brother, it seems you did well.
But you just have to make sure you did it through the "curation trail" option and not the "fan base" option.

Thank you. Yes! I did it into Curation trail option

obviously I would like to get some quality feedback from you (comment section below).

You can count on me for this task. We are already a well-geared team and we know how to deal with these situations.

visit steemauto.com and follow @ph-fund "curation trail" with 100% of your upvoting power.

Done!

I'm planning to run marketing campaign to promote this idea and I would like to know who would be willing to write his own publication encouraging people to join this curation trail and post it on your own profile.

I am willing to fulfill this task.
I will wait for your guidelines in this regard and then proceed to publish.
Maybe you would need an advance draft?

Good point Juan

Maybe you would need an advance draft?

Definetly. I will prepare my own post first and share it with you and others and based on it everyone involved will be able to write his own publication.

Yours
Piotr

It´s a great idea.

Hi, I want to be a part of Steemit in the form of curating only. I don't post anymore. So if I follow you over at steemauto.com will it be profitable for me? I plan to put all of my steem power towards curation.

Dear @robertvogt

Thank you for dropping by and for your willingness to support our efforts. If you follow @ph-fund curation trail then all your upvotes will be triggered right before 300k SP upvote from @project.hope would follow.
This way curation rewards from your own upvotes will double.

However if you don't want to be active at all on steemit - perhaps you should consider delegating your SP to @project.hope - we share 100% rewards from curation rewards with all delegators.
More details: https://www.projecthope.pl/passive_income

ps. I'm very curious how did you find this publication :) I also noticed that you already delegated all your SP. Did you do it via dlease.io? Just curious.

Yours, Piotr

Sorry for the late reply, it is evidentiary of my recent inactivity on Steemit. I don't remember how I found your article. I did all of my delegation through MinnowBooster.

Hi @robertvogt

Did you read my previos reply by any chance?

I was struggling to find valuable content on Steem pages in last months, with the hard Fork in August it got only worse. 10 votes a day, reading the content.... too much time and effort, even for a dolphin. Curation-trails can be a good thing if the content they chose is really valuable.

I joined the trail, but now I have another task: read and comment posts. No gains without efforts, I see. :)

Welcome @deathcross in our little team :)

SMALL UPDATE:

Within last month, @project.hope received another 70k SP support in form of delegations and reached already 292k SP. Hopefully soon we will reach 300k milestone :)

That means, that upvotes of those who join ph-fund curation trail will be even more meaningful and worthy.

Yours, Piotr

Good to have you back Piotr,

I've been busy myself, but I hope to join the marketing team.

I went over to steemauto.com to add SteemAuto. Unfortunately, the button "waiting for account name" didn't recognize my account.

Does it matter if I use SteemConnect?

Hi , I see a lot of nice ideas being put in I would like to ask why do we wait for the period after christmas. That is the time when a lot of people are having a holiday and are not that much active .
Is this not the right time to do it? Let the yuletide spirit be guiding people to be standing in support of project hope.
What say @crypto.piotr @coach.piotr and the team?

Hello Piotr!

Sold! I'll update my settings in steemauto in the next few days! Good job my man!

Cheers!
Lucky

It's nice to see how much work and dedication you have put in this project. I'm unable to follow any trials due to how much manual curating I do but I do plan on doing a little write up that includes the project.hope project at some point.

Thank you @rentmoney for your kind comment.

I wonder how did you bump into this old topic :)

I'm unable to follow any trials due to how much manual curating

Absolutely. I would only suggest to visit posts resteemed on project.hope whenever you have time and see for yourself if there is any post worth your upvote. Most resteemed recently are still 'awaiting' to be upvoted with 300k SP, so you can assume that each of your upvote will double your curation rewards.

Cheers
Piotr

It's me again @rentmoney

I do plan on doing a little write up that includes the project.hope project at some point

:) hope you're still planning on doing it? Please share link with me whenever you would post it. I will gladly upvote your post and read it too :)

Cheers,
Piotr

I do, I'm just not sure when.

Hi @coach.piotr bro,

Thanks for the invitation, looking forward to support @project.hope in this new year 2020 :)

Hi guys, I think the quality side of the marketing has to shine here. I know you all but this post lacks on good marketing material in my view.

To sell the idea, we need to show (have proof) of the quality of the content the trail has. That way people will get into it very quickly, especially with the reward incentive.

The other think I would say it would matter, is to have regular "reviews" of the content, so that you know if the public following it, has any "suggestions" or "critics".

Apart from that, I think you guys are doing a tremendous job raising what you are raising. I could never do something like this myself, so for me, having participating a bit on this is already a privilege.

I will be around. But not as much as I were in 2019... even if I post more, due Family reasons. But when I reach 50, if you still are on STEEM, get ready to get sick of hearing from me. LOL

I know you all but this post lacks on good marketing material in my view.

I absolutely agree with you here @forykw. This post has been published on my 'spare' account and I only wanted to get to know all your opinion.

Thanks for your valuable feedback.

I will be around. But not as much as I were in 2019... even if I post more, due Family reasons. But when I reach 50, if you still are on STEEM, get ready to get sick of hearing from me

Man, I hope you will not disappear :(

Nahh ;) specially because STEEM is going to probably have a very interesting 2020.

You think so @forykw?

Except of SMTs - is there anything else coming?

I usually have a look at the activity that is going on the branches to have a sense of how things are going. Then I have a general poke around what's being done on the testnet. Its a good way to see from the people you are investing, who's really being honest with "we are working to continue"...

Anyway, prices are going up as well, so everyone will start asking questions no matter what.
