So yesterday Julie and I took a trip to Fairmont, MN to help my mother -in-law clean out her attic, and cut some boards to fit where we cut several in the garage, painted, and chatted for most of the day. It is a rare treat to visit, seeing that she lives in Rochester, MN and travels to Fairmont to fix her old house to sell.
The market is not that great, only $40,000 for a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, full basement, and 2 car garage. Yeah, that is kinda cheap, because that same house would grab $100,000 to 150,000 in bigger cities.
So to our journey...
Julie and I will be posting a lot here to give you all an update to our Off Grid journey. We are working hard to gather what we need to buy some land near Austin, TX. A few days ago, we went to Albert Lea Seed House to pick up some veggie and fruit seeds.
Our journey starts in the first week of October. We need to get the funds for either a Motorhome, Yurt, or Tiny House. I would build the Tiny House, and fix up the Yurt myself. I love working with my hands. We know that Off Grid living is not easy, but we are ready to make a change and get away from the 9 - 5 grind.
