We don't have access to the official Steemit analytics but there are tools freely available that can show us how Steemit.com is doing and the picture looks good! You can clearly see that Steemit is gaining some serious momentum and growth. With this kind of trajectory we can expect big things to come in 2018.

While the merits of their metrics can be debated Alexa has become the defacto standard for judging a site's traffic. Steemit.com has achieved an impressive rank of 845 in the largest commercial market on the planet the United States and is not far behind on a global scale with a rank of 1,852 worldwide.

I really could see it going both ways, everyone is attempting to get on board with cryptocurrency these days so it may be a way to ride the wave. That said beyond purchasing I don't see the general public being willing to do any actual 'work' to earn money if history proves itself to be true. Hopefully it takes off, I think we'd all appreciate that in one form or another.

The price of Steem going up is going to bring a lot more attention to Steemit - it's definitely going to be a lot more crowded around here soon. Especially if Steem breaches 1B market cap.
