Good morning steemians, it's a beautiful summer Monday, and this is my RANT

Craig, did you see the post from Dan yesterday regarding the new security measures? Holding Steem, and SteemDollars will be significantly at less risk of loss due to hack after implementation of these new measures:

yes, and I was the 3rd person to comment on that post, I just saw that my comment has 19 upvotes .. cool

I'm new to Steem and I'm having trouble getting people to notice my post. They seem to just fly right of the new post area only getting one or two bot likes. Do you have any suggestions on how to get noticed.

you can get noticed by posting comments in discussions like this one, like right now you are getting noticed :)

Ok Craig, now that you have noticed me I have a question for you. I have a small amount of Steem on Bittrex and was thinking about sending it here and converting it to steam power to increase the potential of getting noticed. But i don't think locking it up for 2 years is economicly feasible for me right now. What do you think is the best thing to do? I see the potential in Steemit but also realize the risk.

I recommend putting all your crypto into steem power, then power down to get the weekly payment, spend allot of time participating on steemit to grow your steem power, and convert your weekly steem payment to bitcoin.. this is what I am doing.

Based on what I've seen, people haven't been upvoting comments much in comparison to posts.

I'm not sure what the underlying reason is -- perhaps at this point users are more interested in the content and less in the discussion, which is a bit unlike Reddit, where typically the discussion is often more interesting than the post itself.

I think the discussions will increase as the community grows.

Isn't there something about your voting power going down the more you vote? There, just found a comment about it but I don't have an official source for you. I'm guessing most people want to keep their limited voting power for the actual posts since they feel those rake the most money.

I'm finding this to be true, particularly for new users. It's a great way to build reputation in the community as well!

It's like I can tell in an hour by up-voting and commenting you make more than I do at my 9-5, it's crazy! It's a great time to be an early adopter of something like steemit..

In my opinion a lot of people are currently finding out how steemit works. The majority are looking for an element of success and therefore rewards. Ultimately the likes of Facebook and Instagram have never rewarded loyalty; they've just been content to enjoy their profits that have been generated by continuous and perpetual usage!! This platform is totally groundbreaking and you cannot underestimate the value of its participants and the rewards they generate.

I fully agree that many people are getting to know now how steemit works, and will surely appreciated its value.

cliffs: replies are just as valuable as writing a post. can make more money making comments than posts since there is no limit on comments. comments take less time than writing out a well thought out post

Reading you loud and clear. Unless you hit that 20k post its all curation bonuses.

i really do hope so, because noone likes my posts :(

Don't you think it might be a combination of both posting and commenting on steemit? Hanging clothes to dry is another way of saving money which at the end makes you money! :)

Yes, it's a combination, but over a long period of time, comments trumps posting

Wow!!! 1 upvote on a comment from you is worth 17 cents. Thats brilliant!

Agreed, not everyone posting will generate the volumes of revenue we are currently witnessing. With that being said, it will get to a stage of "right place, right time" for these dramatic payments. Until then I'm content to generate any amount of income from all means available to me!!

I think of the money being shelled out on the main page as "advertising dollars", and not something to concern myself with

so hanging clothes = earning money :)

Yes! Lol

I made a small post on how to make money by saving money. :)

You made a lot of great points. Near the end you mention that you keep your bitcoins on coinbase.com. This is a great way to cash out to USD but you don't control your bitcoins. Keeping them offline with the keys in your possession is still recommended seeing how you're interested in accumulating bitcoin.

if I keep my bitcoin offline, I am 100% sure I will lose them, online is the only place I feel they are secure, and coinbase or gemini is the most secure place online

Yeah i wouldn't want bitcoin to go mainstream ethier. I feel like at some point it will, because the financial system is bad, but who knows.

My brother in law is a Dana lol yea def a diverse name. Commenting is Beautiful RIGHT...!

Great info and insight. Time will tell what is the best method. Thanks for the bitcoin lesson.

I just found you on YouTube searching about Steemit. Liked this video and subscribed.

Interesting article

There are no bandwagons and feedback loops to contend with in the comments. It's a much more level playing field. If they add a top comments feature, I'm sure we'd end up seeing the same thing as we do with posts. A handful of eye popping rewards at the top, and the majority of posts languishing at the bottom without recognition.

Comments are where it's at.

I just figured that his out today. I have struggled to get anyone to notice post but comments have had my two largest payouts.

People are starting to realize the power of Bitcoin and steemit! THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT!

I feel you have to find a balance between commenting and posting that is just right for yourself. If you are more creative, I feel posting is the way to go. But if you are more curious, commenting would be the way to go :)

Strange video, but I like the message!

I was beginning to wonder which makes more money, posting or commenting or upvoting? Thanks for posting!

The best strategy here in Steemit is to generate quality content and the same applies for comments. More than a large scale, is create/write better content and better comments.

thank good because i suck at blogging, took me 3 tries just to get he pictures up

Yes! This is exactly what I tell new users who are disappointed that their blogs aren't making any rewards. So, I showed them how much they can make in commenting. Yes, most of the time it is not much, however, if they are in the right post it could possibly be very profitable.

I believe it should be community etiquette that bloggers upvote their comments. Numerous times I will look at the bloggers steemd.com page and see they have 100% in voting power, which tells me they are posting just to see what they make in reward. This community will be very rewarding to those who participate in blogging, commenting, and voting.

That's my rant. Some may disagree, but I'm just being honest with what I see.

Yeah man. No need to risk your money on trading Steem with charts. Better to make some riskfree content and earn like that.

Looks like I'm a bit late to the party but I just wanted to confirm your take on this (this is my comment on the male make-up video that earned me close to 1800$). There's definitely good money to be made commenting :)

yes, for sure :)

I always enjoy your videos. solid advice, thanks!

Hey man I am so thankful for your videos there are so informative please continue to make them and will always up-vote them cheers.

This comment will get no money. :)

Sharing the STEEM!

I am really impressed how much money people can get from a post. Do you invested into Steem Power before?
