WHAT IS A SHITPOST? "
If we have a look on the urban dictionary we can notice a few good explanations of a shitpost but I'm going to include the best one:
The constant posting of mildly amusing but usually unfunny memes, videos or other pictures that are completely random or unrelated to any discussions.
It's a perfect description. Steemit is a place where good content is mostly undervalued and unnoticed, while on the other hand shitposts like posting a stupid, unrelated meme from the internet is considered good enough to earn a shit tone of money.
Most people wouldn't even care about them if they weren't getting high rewards. That's why I salute all the acknowledged people on this platform who are trying to make a difference. Constantly looking for undervalued content is something we all have to do. It's the only way we can contribute and it's the only way we can help this community grow.
It really doesn't matter how good we organize our feed or curb our overall intake Steemit is a scatter of horseshit. Of course, shitposts are a thing for a decade now and it isn't like this site invented it. They are everywhere but unfortunately we are getting saturated with them more and more.
There's room for hope however. Stop giving any attention to those mofos and things will get better. "Steemit is the future, Steemit will demolish Facebook and put it to sleep bla bla bla"... Why are we thinking like that if we're not acting like that?! We should accomplish something and then we can brag about it. Internet is a place of constant innovations, and Steemit is a place of a lot of wonderful, smart, young, enthusiastic people so why not improve it? It doesn't take much...
