My original comment was about D.Tube, not D.Live. I think D.Live was great for the few months that it was around but I'm guessing it cost them more to host videos (don't think they were using IPFS) so it didn't make sense for them economically to stay on Steem. Oh well. sad to hear. Hope you don't switch back D.Tube now that D.Live is gone.

I went exclusive with DLive for about a month when I was frustrated with YouTube. Stupidest idea ever. DLive doesn't store your videos for more than a 1 week. If you get lucky and someone decides to index your videos on their IPFS node, they might last longer, but nowhere near YouTube. Dlive is just another avenue to promote your stuff, but I'm not sorry to hear they left Steem.
D.Tube when i used it was slower than D.Live. Dlive might had had more funding and had more servers to handle the upload pressure
