Why? You may ask. In your head you are probably saying I am getting less rewards on my post. Followers that normally voted for you have now disappeared. You don't think the effort is worth the reward as Steem is dropping in value daily. If these thoughts have crossed your mind in the last few days ,you are thinking negatively and need to change your mindset. You need to do the exact opposite and double down your efforts. The smart ones will be here as they understand this.
Think of your account as a business in a recession and what would a smart business do. A well known businessman and entrepreneur and my old boss Johan Rupert was always one step ahead of his rivals. What he did was expand and grow whilst his rivals downsized. When the recession was over he was in a position to take advantage and reap the rewards left by others. The same scenario applies here as there is no difference.
Increase the number of daily posts and try to vary the topics. You need to be noticed by a new audience in order to find new followers. There are fewer posts to read as less users are posting so being spotted by a bigger account is higher than normal. The more you post the more visible you will become, a bit like promoting your self without paying for bots. Interact with users who comment on your post, they have given you the respect by reading it ,so the least you can do is to reply and vote.
Look for new users to follow by reading material you enjoy and most importantly comment and up vote. If you just vote without leaving a comment no one will know who you are. How many users just vote and don't comment ,is a lost opportunity for growth.
Most of these points are just common sense to some of us and seemed to be lost on others. Whilst Steem is low and no SBD in payouts ,it is a prime opportunity to just grow. Your following will grow and possibly your rewards will increase in your post payouts. Power up all the rewards and you will see after two weeks of doing this what a difference it makes. When your followers return when Steem is higher they will realize the mistake they have made by seeing how you have grown. 1 Steem today is less than $1 but tomorrow it could be $5 or even $10 so it is not about now but what lies ahead.
Fuck it. I don't care about the price. I just like posting and growing the rep. Feels good to get a few upvotes too. The steem price is a bonus.

I totally agree. I enjoy it and it's a challenge ,it is something I wouldn't normally do. Has been a bit out the comfort zone but getting used to it now.

I agree. Though I have not been posting for a number reasons outside of steemit, this is definitely the best time to be posting and networking. I am always looking for interesting content and will upvote and comment on it when I find it. As an avid reader, I find that I earn more through curation and well thought out comments than from my actual posts lol. I have some vacation time comming up so will be posting quite a bit then, as well as reading, upvoting and commenting.

Hi @paradigm42. Don't give up on posting it takes time. Don't worry about the rewards as they will follow. It can take months to build a decent reward per post through building followers. I look forward to seeing some of your posts.
