FACEBOOK DOWN! The censoring giant is not invincible!
The censoring, centralized and corrupt giant is having “technical difficulties” and appears to be down for millions of users worldwide.
This is a great opportunity for all of us Steemit users to spread the word about decentralized alternatives to Social Media.
Facebook, Youtube, Twitter have become evil giants, they are censoring news, demonetizing alt-right and libertarian accounts and siding with other big companies to keep people in the dark, buying useless stuff on credit and conditioning them so they remain working as slaves for the rest of their lives.
We all know these giants won’t last, as soon as Myspace became unwieldy, bloated, and pretty much "uncool" there came Facebook, a small University social website, to replace it. I believe it’s Facebook time now to be replaced by a decentralized, uncensored, content creators money making platform. Steemit is a very good one to start!
So, what do you say? Should we start sawing Facebook’s supporting wooden beams today?
In the news:
Down Detector reported thousands of Facebook outages Saturday morning, with 44% of users saying they were totally blacked out from the site and 38% saying they couldn't log in.
About 8,000 Instagram outages were reported to Down Detector, with 44% of users reporting news feed issues and 28% of users reporting login problems.
Facebook has not said why the sites are down for those users, but the situation prompted enough of a response to get #facebookdown trending on Twitter within minutes. It also led to people sharing a number of memes as they felt lost without two of the most popular social media networks in the world.
A Facebook spokesperson told The Verge that the outages were due to "a technical issue," and that the company was working to restore service for those affected.
Is that Zuckerberg driving?

Facebook and Zuckerberg crashing wouldnt upset me in the least.
More and more people are learning that it is time to move things to decentralized systems. How rapidly will it happen? I am not sure. But those who value freedom will embrace it in all areas of their lives.

Facebook is having a great many problems, but I don't believe they will be going anywhere soon. I may be wrong. Facebook may crash and burn as MySpace did after the release of Facebook. Then again, most people tend to be creatures of habit.
Steemit seems to be a mixture of Medium and Reddit with rewards. Steemit is a good platform for those that create original content. Then again the format might change overtime.
Thank you so much for you informative article with a clear take action message. Keep on bringing these great articles! I really like 'em!
Respectfully,
@sargento

I couldn't post, comment, or anything on FB yesterday, as was the case with many of my friends. I have been sharing posts from Steemit over on FB with hopes that my better friends would follow me over here, and then I can abandon FB in general. Steemit has been immeasurably better for my writing than the other social media outlets, that's for sure. I have already posted content on here that I would never dream of writing anywhere else, and I am extremely grateful for that.
Thanks for this post and for your upvote on my piece yesterday. Upvoted!
Best,
Mo
