I have a very bad Internet connection and I use VPN as well to connect to the Internet because the price of the Internet here in my country is cutting everyone to bleed white and the Internet providers are really group of sharks since there are only a few of them and connive with each other together with corrupt politicians to take total control of the price of Internet at their mercy as they are an oligarchy.
The price of Internet here should not be so high as the infrastructure for it has been already settled so there should be no more a tight grip on the Internet price. But it is understandable, the Internet providers are just a few and they command a high price for it.
So that issue made me turn to VPN as it makes my connection cheaper. I just only have to subscribe to a three day promo worth .20 cents and I am connected. But it's not that easy because in the VPN I have to find a working server and most of the time the servers are busy and I can't get in if I could, they are so slow.
The thing is that the Internet provider that I am connecting into has a very weak signal in my area so it adds to my headache as the signal bar is only showing 1 bar in my modem.
That is why I am often doing #steemit at night so if I plan to do it all night I drink coffee during after supper but if I had forgotten to drink coffee I will indeed get sleepy and I can't fight it, much less make myself get up and make a cup for me because i might spill it going back to my bed.
I do steemit at night because it is cooler at night and I don't get to sweat on my bed than me doing steemiting during the day. I also enjoy the silence, no birds chirping, not much vehicles passing, nothing is noisy and moving, not even a mouse.
I can concentrate my mind with such good environment of cool and silent with only the hum of my electric fan I do enjoy to mask my ringing ears. I just hope that at least I get a good signal for my modem so I can download movies. I had been deprived lately of watching movies and it has been a while since I've watched one here in my tablet.
Good luck night Steeming. I find that is when I can think the best. Sometimes I can get out two or three post at night. During the day I have some many distractions. Like you said the noise the birds the cars.... for me it's the dogs and cats.... my wife does in-home pet sitting so it gets crazy around here sometimes.
Barking barking barking.... who can think!? Last Christmas we had 23 dogs over a three week period. OMG. I got no rest at all.
At least here we have good always on internet connection but it's not cheap either. Comcast charges way to much for internet only service. If we buy the TV package with it it is actually cheaper. But My wife and I prefer a roku fopr TV viewing and don't care to contribute to the pay-chain that pays channel providers we don't care to support financially.
Cryptopie, I have really enjoyed reading your post since I found you a couple of weeks ago. I keep up with you and your father and hold you in my prayers.

Yes I love the night time and sometimes I wished that it is longer.

Sometimes being able to Steemit at night can kind of be a blessing. I also am able to think more clearly at night and have less distractions which helps me write. It's unfortunate that the internet providers in your area are acting in such a way. Hopefully as the internet becomes more ubiquitous worldwide, more and more providers will help to lower the price for the common people

Steemiting at nightme just makes us concentrate better like for me because of the silence and cooler weather because I am in a tropical country, I tend to prefer cooler climates.
