I agree. Many posts are basically content that polluted twitter when it first started out.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam

    Not enough.

    Also, Steemit developers seem to deprioritize tools that help content creators from other platforms migrate to steemit. Such as proper tools for cross posting.
