I made this post for all #newbies and tryed to as precise as I can be.
In my video you will see a #stepbystep guide on how to upload a video and an image to your steemit post
#Uploading an image on Steemit requires somethimes a short command that can be found by clicking down on the right corner named " Styling with Markdown".
The command is:
! [ ] ( )
now there are no spaces between them so first is "!" then [] and then is ( ...here you put the url of the image...) .
And you are set !

ok so i worked this out you can also click the broken link and it does the same, but how do you actually get it to post, is there a certain word limit or something? Is it possible to just post videos, my post video stays grey.

its not worth your time. stick with youtube and force this ridiculous ten-step process to be simplified. either. 2018. they want you to watch a video on how to download a video lol
