Gifts of Love - Wheels and a Meal Fundraiser Results

in steemit •  7 years ago

Tonight I was able to send the remainder of the donations to the @amaponian family from the Wheels and a Meal Fundraiser.

One thing that made that transfer extra exciting was that @amaponian and I were on a discord phone conversation while I was making the transfers. This was the first time that he and I have ever talked beyond text based chat. His whole family was there to experience the phone call. It was a lot of fun! (I really should have paid more attention back in my high scool Spanish class!)

The last transfer to be made was the cash gift that was given to me by some friends that follow me on YouTube. This donation was very special from very special people. Read the letter from her here.

That gift was $200 cash to me. I then bought bitcoin on coinbase, but because of the delay on coinbase the amount grew because BTC had a good week!

It's even higher at the time of writing this post!

Thank You!

I love that the community, YOU, came together to make this happen. In total you were able to donate over $330 equivalent USD to this family. This was more than enough for tires on the family vehicle and some groceries for the week.

@amaponian is excited to repair the family vehicle. Here is his brother @freddycampos working on one of the car parts.

The Most Important

Part of all this to me is the display of LOVE from this community! Money came from cash donations, Steemit transfers of SBD and STEEM to my wallet, them some directly to @amaponian 's wallet.

Cryptocurrency and platforms like Steemit have made it possible for us, in this moment, to share a story and to reach across international borders to help feed a family. ... let that sink in for a moment. Amazing.

In The Future

I look forward to getting to know @amaponian better as we share our stories online. There is no question in my mind that he will be a good steward of these gifts and will bless others from his abundance in the future.

This Is Not The End

My encouragement to you is that no gift is too small. Share in love from your heart from the resources you have. There is no value in gifts and talents buried. The value is in the exchange. Slow down to listen to the stories all around you. There is someone that needs you and likely you'll find that you need them too.

Thank you for sharing this time with me!

Months ago I did not want to see the car because I knew I should sell it. Now it comes back to life to run again and serve the family and others.
Thanks @daddykirbs and thanks to all the donors for this miracle.

Everything is possible friend.

Thank You @daddykirbs for telling us all his story... It really is what you say all the time, "Everyone has a story".

This story makes me happy. ;) Thanx @daddykirbs . This is a lesson of sharing, giving, receiving, helping and spirituality.

In this mad race we live in we often forget to "Slow down to listen to the stories all around [us]".

Beautiful 😁

I understand very well the difficulties that exist in my country because I do not save myself from them. And that a friend as dear as @Amaponian receives this miracle of life, is fantastic. Amen.
