Before I get to the part about my idea, @janton, I think it’s necessary to introduce our readers to you. I’ll be brief with the introduction, don’t worry, it won’t be anything close to the character count of your responses! I need to warn you, though, I stole a page from your playbook—the one that says “leave your readers with a bunch of question marks.” 😉
He’s from the northern plains of Texas, he’s a real life rancher who researches westerns daily—one of the most encouraging followers you could have and.. and.. and..
The simplest way for me to introduce you to janton is math. Check out that post count—over 26k! He started #steemit in February, 2018, even if we give him the entire month of February as though he began engaging on Feb. 1st, he’s still only been with us for 10 months. On an average of 30 days per month, that’s 300 days. 26,300 divided by 300 is ‘about’ 87—did you catch that? “87.” Eighty.Seven. I understand our edits—they count as a post. I’m guilty of making a lot of my responses a two count’er also, after edits, so maybe he’s only posting half of that and, realistically, the number is closer to 50 or 60. Somewhere between 45 and 87 posts per day is incredible—congratulations, @janton, you’re a phenom! No wonder you’re always at the top of Asher’s engagement league.
I dig your westerns, you’re the only person I’m aware of who’s writing westerns, way to corral your followers. And that “Howdy” you do, well done! Bravo! You’ve done a fine job branding yourself, kind sir, all of your dedication isn’t going unnoticed. Are you ready for my idea now? I hope you’ll accept the offer. “Offer?” 🤔 I don’t think I used the right wOrd there, hold please... offer, deal, no, it’s not a deal, compromise, no, it’s not a compromise either. I can’t think of the right verb, janton, something to do with ‘change.’ And, no, not just because you’re comfortable researching westerns, that’s not it, and it isn’t because you’re uncomfortable talking about yourself either. It’s just a verb with nickels and dimes in it.
So, you want to know my secret? I’ll tell you how I did it; the whole part about drawing full pensions and moving my wife and I to a tropical country at age 40, you got it! I’ll do the exchange with you but I need to give you a couple of stipulations. Like any negotiations, there’s always fine print.
I hope you accept this Piece o’ cake, right? But, we already know what I’ll be writing about second (after you), that whole retirement thing, an element of my life that has you curious. But what about you? If you get to pick what I’m #writing about then it only makes sense for me to pick your subject. hint 2-6 Don’t flip your lid (2) like a pressure-cooker (3) but did you notice all of the prepping (4) I had to do just to get us seasoned (5) to this point? You’re a tough egg to crack (6), janton! I know, I know, you don’t cook, I know! @thebigsweed told me he couldn’t make anything other than a PB&J and by the following Friday he posted this. <- Really?! I have an easier idea for you, though, since you write instead of cook—you’re going to love it. Yeee-Haw!! Tell me about your favorite dinner you spent with your wife, Mrs. J, away from the house, in 2018. Maybe not your favorite-favorite, but it’s memorable, you know what I mean. What’s so great about it? Maybe throw in a couple of these when describing what it smells like. For example, I could tell you about the freeway by me, call it US Highway 101 or just say something like “we went south.” Take me for a drive, what’s it look like outside, what’s the occasion? Are you celebrating something, discussing something, what’s so special about that particular dinner? Any #history in the city? I don’t know about you, but I love stories with a #good... After you’ve toured me all around your favorite dinner date of the year and I know the road traveled to get there, what the air smells like, the weather outside, the waitress, the meal, etc. we need a twist! Ready? Why doesn’t that dinner compare to your favorite dinner memory spent with your wife, ever? What sets that one aside from all of the others? Please explain, I’m eager to learn about both dates. But I’m thinking a little less on the Quentin Terantino and a little more on the Martin Scorsese, everyone knows who those guys are, right? Scorsese is one of those directors that has one unexpected twist after the other, so, guess what? Your story needs one more...
challenge exchange. You know, if you don’t accept it, I’m going to be pretty frustrated with myself for not trying hard enough, right? Let’s not do that to me—just keeping you in the loop  I mean, 😉, try not to let these disruptive outbursts distract you, ok? The ones where I cut in on myself, like this, right in the middle of an exchange and talk about something like frustrations for who knows how long until I finally interrupt myself again and say something else like #conscioustream. As I was saying, the... fine print

ha! Howdy sir dandays! What the Samhill kind of a post is this??? lol. First of all your numbers might be slightly off because although I joined in Febuary I didn't make my first post for almost two months. And you may need to revise your question too because I didn't go out to eat in 2018. I told you I was a hermit!
My wife went out many times with friends but I didn't.
This is a brilliantly executed post though with great photos and captivating writing! You really know how to keep people's attention, it's a wonderful gift you have and highly entertaining. Perfect for Steemit!

Are my numbers off? That’s probably why an alphanumeric witness stopped by, not only once, twice—who are you?? I wasn’t prepared for another twist.
I wasn’t prepared for rejection either so whatever you’re about to read is me wingin’ it:
“No problem, I was just testing my internet connection anyway.” Wingin—stop.
I’m glad you liked it! I’d be lying if I didn’t say I really enjoyed putting this one together, remember when I said “and... and... and...?” Your whole third paragraph is exactly what I was talking about. Insert your favorite expression of gratitude < here >
Thanks for stopping by @janton.

haha! howdy again sir dandays! I think it's a masterpiece actually! I'm serious. As far as the numbers..well I have no idea what they should be but I'm thinking if you used the first of Feb to calculate and i didn't start posting or commenting for another 7 weeks then they would have to be off. But I'm clueless and handicapped in math! lol.
Also, that wasn't a rejection. I thought you said I could take my time and think about it?
