The strange phenomenon of the Ray of Catatumbo

in steemit •  7 years ago

Good morning friends steemians,

On this occasion I am writing to tell you about a meteorological phenomenon that occurs only in my beloved Maracaibo land, located in Venezuela, and from which no scientist has been able to explain its origin.

It is the Ray of Catatumbo.

If you travel to Maracaibo, at dusk or at night, by the imposing Gral. Rafael Urdaneta Bridge, also known as Bridge over the Lake, you will be able to observe how rays that look like rain, fall repeatedly. This is the Catatumbo Lightning, but what is really this phenomenon that, for many scientists, is the only natural phenomenon capable of regenerating the Ozone Layer, however there are many theories about this event. It is a meteorological phenomenon that develops in the Basin of the Catatumbo River, hence its name, are thousands of rays that occur daily, throughout the year and according to some studies can be predicted with even months in advance.

I leave some images for you to enjoy the majesty of this phenomenon.
