After being on Steemit for a few months. I am finding Steemit is missing a huge opportunity to bring in users. Steem is a really good way to advertise your business or service not only for free and to different viewers you wont always find on mainstream websites but you or your business could generate money to advertise! Somebody tell me one company that pays you to promote your good or service! I really don't know of any.
Also on top of steemit having a different type of audience that mainstream blogs and social media sites have. .. Steemit is also listed on google giving people look for you or your company and even bigger outreach and possibility of finding you to pay you what you need. $$$ This I believe is the best feature of this platform. Getting paid to advertise yourself. Potentially monetizing everything you have. Even if its an extra .05 cents. That's 5 cents that you wouldn't have had.
I really would like to see that: steemit used to advertise. But so far, it is not that way. You can write about your business and somebody else's business in your post. But blogging is not like groups, as in Facebook. I have about 10 groups in Facebook and I do make money from them. I sell things and also advertising. Here I do not see a way to sell a banner or a pin ad. If I am wrong, probably you can correct me. When steemit allows us to do groups and have a wall, wow! that will be a good moment to monetize. Even the program will be getting money because there is alway people who pay for clicks. Right now, the format is more let me pay you for your content and pictures.

Isn't the whole point of Steemit is a place without advertisements. I mean there are so many other places, can't we have just one place without, in your face buy me? Every time a group of people forms on the Internet the marketing experts show up and slow it down and turn it into something ugly.
Moreover, this is certainly a money making endeavor if you contribute more than only hype. I would say go advertise somewhere else and let me make my penny in peace.

People don't make most of their money off of Steemit. If you pay attention the people that are successful on steemit have referral links and donations that they advertise and capatalize on. Even developers speak and bring people to their other projects from steemit.

There are some people that do live off of posting on Steem but from what I have seen they dont get a day off.
