I want to analyze people approach here on Steemit. I want to paint a picture of the people that interact here on the Steemit community platform. Are you an investor, speculator, contributor or scavenger in the Steemit community.
For me, I am a speculator, contributor and scavenger. Yea I am a scavenger and I am proud of it. I go around looking for great post and post that interest me. I upvote all post worthy in my eyes and I always like to leave a comment. I try to read most of the posts from the people I follow and even upvote once it sparks an interest. I am no whale by any means and my upvote probably worth less than 1 cent but I notice that my comments generate more rewards than my actual post. So I do it with with WITH WITH pleasureEEEEEEEE now, I COMMENT WHERE I CAN(scavenger at play).
So my advice to new members if you are looking to build your foundation and get rewards, it does not always have to be awesome or great post. Look for opportunities when members post contents and comment on the post, probably someone may see your comment worthy of rewards.
You can always be a contributor and continue to make post after post, adding to the increasing wealth of knowledge, entertainment, philosophy, etc that exist in the community. Hard work does not always equal reward, so please don't take it at heart if your post only gets 1 cent. Its good to do some research and share your results but it should not always be your goal. Just share your thoughts like I am doing right now. No research except looking for some pictures I think would add spice and lift my layout. Its a social media platform, built on blockchain technology with some genius here and there but we should encourage silly moments like any other social platform or even get serious as our friends on Github
I am also a speculator on Steem, I believe its a hugely undervalued, with a market cap of just under 400,000,000, its sets up for a nice trading opportunity. Outside the steemit community, I have bought 10 steem tokens and I put it in my vault, I want to forget about it but set a reminder in 2 years times that its there. I also hope to build my steem here and continue to add value to the community. I won't put my foot in the investor shoes but if I had that kind of money, I would buy 1 million worth of Steem without thinking twice about it. I see the potential of this media platform and it would be interesting to see how the developers incorporated if they ever do, advertising within the space. I still think that they do a poor job on advertising the platform. For starters, probably a couple youtube videos advertising the platform, a couple airtime on some major news outlet. I hope this does not come across negative but just my views. Depending on the community (users) to build and grow the platform won't be enough. I need to start seeing some ruthlessness and roll-out from an aggressive promotional team. Most of these social media platform like Facebook have to spark investors interest every quarter, Apple has to roll-out something new ever so often to starve out competitors. This is the kind of approach Steemit need to adopt.
I got a little heated in the end but I hope we all see the picture. I am a proud scavenger, contributor and speculator. I hope that this community grows and they serious give thought to my last paragraph. So what are you, do you consider yourself a scavenger, contributor, speculator or investor

One thing about Steemit is that it encourages many people to act like scavengers, hanging around whales for bits of food. I'd really prefer not to do that. I want to create value and get paid for that value.
