As some of you know, I have done a series of interviews with Steemit-related folks, including:

Tomorrow, I'll be interviewing @aggroed who I had the pleasure of welcoming to my studios last week for a "technology tour." What questions do you have for him? What would you like us to discuss?

Leave it here in a reply!

Sort Order:

Ask if he would support restoring the Steem Power vesting to a multiple year long schedule to address the problem of voting for short term personal profit rather than long term healthy growth.

Ask if he would support a return to a non-linear rewards curve so that there's short term incentive to form consensus around quality content rather than each person upvoting only their own posts.

Ask if he would support curation rewards for downvotes as well as upvotes to help prevent spam and platform abuse.

Thanks for conducting the interview and soliciting questions for it.

that's an interesting one

My first question would be How long will "steemit" be in BETA?

I'd like steemit to overpower Facebook's popularity in near future. What's your take on this?? That'll be my second question

@davidpakman was misleading/confused here. Steemit is a single website. Steem is the infrastructure that supports that website and others. Anyone can build a website that acts as an interface to Steem, and a number of independent sites exist already. Witnesses like @aggroed work for the Steem blockchain, not specifically for the Steemit website.

Are you concerned with the recent dip in the price of steem and what are your price predictions for steem in 2018.

good one, will ask about this!

Yes, because I don't have any extra Federal Reserve Notes to trade for them right now while they are on sale ; )

Hey @davidpakman great to hear this! I am also interviewing several Steem Users for my research project on Blockchain Social Networks and @aggroed is clearly a much sought after user ;-) I was also referring to your work in that post and would be excited to get you on board for an interview @davidpakman. Would you be available for that?

I’d like to hear about his thoughts on reward pool “abuse” and if he believes it is impacting new user acquisition/retention.

Thanks!

what are his long term views of steemit?

There seems to be a lot of dudes on Steemit - which is fine, I like dudes... but I have noticed that "feminism" is a bad word around here (Not all females and/or"feminists" are social justice warriors or interested in riding the identity politics train after all). I am wondering about his thoughts about an imbalance of gender (my observations could be wrong) and, If he agrees, does he think that there is something that could be done to encourage more female Steemians.

good one!

"What do you think is the most important community-related aspect of Steemit's growth?"

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

His position on the Haije vs berniesanders drama and if he thinks there should be a cap on the reward pool, posting cap or if everything should be up to the community to governance.

I think many people dont downvote in fear of their payouts and reputation as well that precious voting power is lost for that day. How can people be encouraged to downvote if this should be encouraged at all.

If he couls snap one finger and one thing would be immediately implemted into steemit, what would that be?

If he could snap one finger and one thing would be immediately out of steem or fixed what would that be?

Awesome question. Couldn't have said it better myself.

If he supports berniesanders in the saga vs haejin, does he support downvoting davidpackman for having the audacity of: bringing followers from another platform, creating a large following, posting multiple times a day, and generally bringing positive attention to steem.

Users often find out too late that they have crossed some unwritten line that is being enforced by self-appointed community members. Can some of these practices be codified? Or is that against the overall ethic that is embedded in Steem?

Ask him for a primer on Smart Media Tokens, whether Smart Media Tokens will be a driver of Steemit growth, and give examples of how Smart Media Tokens could be used by third-party sites. Thanks!

Are any witnesses paying users for proxy designations or is this verboten?

What is a witness? Who are you and what are you doing here?

"What do you think about mannequins?", haha
Big plastic hug
Steemitri The Mannequin

Seconding this, just for the lulz.

Haha, thanks for your support... a big hug to you too!
You know... I'm the only, and first mannequin of Steemit ;-)
Ciaooooooooo

If he could bring anyone onto steemit, who would it be and why?

with a lot of new people coming into steemit (myself included) what type of content would you like new users to be producing?

Honest question because I'd like to start blogging and reviewing potential icos and coins. The drawback i may see from this is being interpreted as financial advise when the aim for is to provide objective content.

What is his favourite film?

"What is the meaning of life?"

what do you think steemit will dominate all sites ??

Steemit.com

So..... nice post my dear, best of luck.

What steps are being taken to end bot spam?

His take, as a witness, on the @haejin vs @BernieSanders issue as well as his take on @grumpycat flagging posts that use voting bots past x amount of days while kind of raping the reward pool himself.

adding to this important question. Who gives @grumpycat the authority to act as judge jury and executioner who is sitting on half a mil SP, this makes Steemit look more like a dictatorship rather than a libertarian utopia.
Be nice to him though, @aggroed is a lovely person and great supporter and helper of newbies.

Such a wonder full post you are one which give nice shoot

What aggressive steps can be taken to engage with the youtube community in regards to the censorship and demonitization problem?

After the incident with Logan Paul Youtube exec said that it protects creators users and advertisers. I think another ad shake down is likely and I see this going the way of consolidation because I don't remember clips from cnn hitting the front page not that long ago. You'd come across some independent stuff like davids or some fringe shit.

What do you anticipate as the most likely outcome of the bandwidth squeeze? Will the witnesses fix the underlying problem at this time or will they put a bandaid on it and leave the background problem for later.

If there is any question that this will be a monster problem for Steemit check this. I hit upvote before I hit reply. I've typed this and my vote is still buffering. VOTING won't even work right now. It is becoming critical.

My question is just one...and it goes like this..."can steemit witstand the presure and still continue when governments or anti progress people come against it".

Let me elaborate...
Steemit is very easy to earn.its as easy as post, follow, and comment to earn..and steemit Will boom to the extent that people would get rich through this platform..and bad people will not be happy because its free money..so they would love to bring it down..when they start trying.can steemit stand firm?

Don't have any specific questions, but definitely looking forward to the interview!

Will steemit be bigger than reddit in 5 years time? (popularity and use)

Decentralization is great but does he think, philosophically, that "executive" leadership is needed to overtake social-media competitors?

What do you see as the next big thing for steemit's growth? On the off chance that it's not at present executed, what do you figure it would take to get it actualized?

I'll be really looking forward to this. I'd like to know his thoughts on whether there's a chance that another blockchain might copy the idea that Steemit is based on, and if yes, what does he think are the chances of it succeeding.

I would like to ask if some true competitors of steemit appear in a true sense then how 'll you compete them?

Any exciting plans for busy and dtube?

"I want to know how steemit in the future, whether it always produces " ... hopefully steemit continues to grow....

What do you see as the next big thing for steemit's growth? If it's not currently implemented, what do you think it would take to get it implemented?

How I can buy the money that I have like steem or steem dollar?I'm new on steemit and I need a help...

Roger Ver is creating a Free Society [https://www.freesociety.com/] would you consider living in a Stateless society?

There’s a lot of talk in here about the Bernie vs Haejin situation. I saw something that gradually drew in more and more users, and also threatened to destroy a community of poker players. So there is obviously great concern over a self governing ecosystem within the current ruleset.

This situation was only resolved in part by two parties acting in good faith. If we can take Twitter as an example, there are many out there who act in bad faith.

Will Steem need to introduce measures of governance beyond what we have now, especially if the lack of control becomes a factor that will turn off mainstream SMT adoption by big entities.

Thanks for giving you a blog about steemit
