Help improve steemit!

in steemit •  8 years ago  (edited)

while revolutionary steem still has a long way to go. just like any other new technology it has its kinks and quirks. this post is not meant to rag on steem but instead to bring to the surface any issues however small to the surface. this post is meant to serve as a talking point for all the tinkerers and creative people who when they see something amazing they say "how can it be better?". so comment your thoughts and they will be added to the list of ways this amazing service can evolve from amazing to to stupendously magnificent!

Problems to address:
mainstream adoption- currently steem is still an "underground" website and needs mainstream adoption to grow.
non genuine upvotes- bots and people upvoting anything to get more steem not contributing anything to the community

Possible Improvements:
reward variety- reward upvoting viewing resteeming etc. basically the more you put into a post the more you get out.
website integration- adding support for using steem login at various websites and adding a share via steem button.
decentralized storage- integration for a storage service such as storj increases security and aids decentralization.

content contributors/inspiration :
@fallbackagain = adoption. @surfermarly = reward variety+non genuine upvotes.

Authors get paid when people like you upvote their post.

Fair points, but we are getting to use this platform as it is being built instead of "once it's done" (not that things are ever done, but you know what I mean). Adoption and sustained use are probably the most important issues Steem needs to tackle at the moment. Interested to see how things play out over the next few years though.

thanks for the constructive comment it is appreciated! btw i added your comment and username to the list. let me know if you want to be removed.

Steemit is just the beginning of a whole new world that we'll face in the next 10-25 years. 75% of all the occupations that we know right now will vanish and be partially replaced by totally new concepts of work.

We cannot expect to grow our economy instantaneously without a big crash.

People change, society changes and we will have to face the future.

Things will never be the same.

And flaws are a major part of the process of generating something new and big and bold that has the potential of making this world a better place to live on.

Let's focus on the positive things.

you know, Steemit isn't fully formed and is not without its flaws. However, you may want to learn the platform and have some skin in the game before commenting on what you think is wrong after hardly scratching the surface.

Thanks for the input but i was not attacking steem i was just sharing how i thought it could be improved. a question i ask about anything that i come into contact with.

apparently you paid little attention to what I wrote so I wont bother repeating myself.

i think steem has a way to go , but its getting there
