Good article! Lots of good advice. I am pretty new to Steemit, just started a couple days ago. I liked the bit about the green plastic frog. I've seen quite a few comments that don't make sense on some post in my short time here.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
