The Death Of Internet

in steemit •  7 years ago

"The Federal Communications Commission voted three to two to change the way "net neutrality" is governed.
Internet service providers will now be allowed to speed up or slow down different companies' data, and charge consumers according to the services they access."
This ruling will drastically impact the way we search, browse, shop, download, upload, program, platform usage and much more. The internet as we know will be less open, less accessible and undoubtedly restricted.
This is by far the biggest assault on people’s rights, the least thing we are entitled to: a plain level field on the internet where no one is judged by income, race, or a zip code.
In other word the richer individuals will always have the upper hand by engaging in contracts with internet providers to block competitors, push their own products and agendas.
I can’t ask what is next but rather what is left.
