USA's Independence Day (July 4)

It is sad that so many Americans do not know what this holiday is about. It has been diluted with blockbuster films, rantings about racism from those with an evil agenda and generalized ignorance which is perpetuated with a school system that no longer teaches real American history.

That is true. It's been diluted into a day people drink and eat and watch things that blow up. I bet if you were to poll every adult American half of them wouldn't be able to tell you what the holiday represents.
