Author and Curator Rewards: Changed since the Hard Fork?steemCreated with Sketch.

I believe post payout used to be 75% / 25% in favor of the author. Now I see 96% / 4%. Is this correct or am I missing something?

It could be this way, because of curation rewards in the first half hour after posting. I know that if I vote in the first 7-8 minutes, 100% of the curation reward goes to the author of the post, and after that it starts decreasing. The best time to upvote and get curation reward is between 21 and 40 minutes after posting.

That's a good point. So what you are saying is that most people voted on my post in the first half an hour?

Could be the case. It certainly seems like it is.

also my payout is 25 then i get only 10..
something is wrong on steemit right now..

On which post would that be - can you send a link?

Let me explain. Out of the 25SBD, you get 75% for yourself and 25% go to people who upvoted your content (at least this is how it used to be before the hard fork).

Out of these 75%, half you receive as SBD and the other half as Steem Power.

You can immediately cash out the 10SBD, but if you want to cash out Steem Power, you have to Power Down (from your wallet) and this process takes a long time (1-2 years, not sure what it is now). Every week you will receive a portion of your Steem Power, which you can cash out in the form of Steem.

The problem with Powering Down is that you will loose Steem Power, which means that your upvote will be worth less and less.

I hope I was clear, but if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask :)

Hope you don't mind I upvoted your article! :)

wow i didn't know this..
thank so much @dek for making it clear..
