I always took an interest in Nikola Tesla, the history of his life and inventions. And when one day I was invited to a trip to the Istinsky reservoir, I accidentally found out that along the way there would be such a POI - an interesting, rare object ...
But he has no direct relationship to Tesla, though, the truth is somewhere there, because he made efforts to the very idea and essence of this object.

In general, it is one of the most powerful generators of high-voltage electrical impulses built during the times of the greatness of the Soviet Union. This installation of the Marx generator is the Marx Generator.

The complex is capable of producing sparks and impulses with a voltage of 6 megavolts and the discharges are emitted at 200+ meters. It was built in the 1970s by the High-Voltage Research Center of the All-Russian Electrotechnical Institute (VNIIT VEI) near Istra, and was designed to test the strength of insulation, protection against aircraft lightning, and research in the field of weapons systems on EMR.

And this generator is called "Arkadieva-Marx" - high-voltage pulse generators, which allow reaching high voltage values ​​by cascading transformers.

It was used to create a powerful electromagnetic radiation of the type that occurs when a nuclear explosion occurs. So, here the behavior of the apparatus was tested with the supernumerary pulses of electromagnetic radiation.

But alas, after the collapse of the USSR the installation was abandoned and left to rust in the open air for a long time.
