Latest Steemit Website Updates: Account Suggestions When Making STEEM or SBD Transfers. [Bug Discovered]

in steemit •  7 years ago

This is probably one of the best features Steemit has implemented on the blogging platform.

When making transfers for either STEEM or SBD, under the 'TO' textfield Steemit now gives you account suggestions from a record of those you are following and also those accounts you have transacted with.

The suggestions are ranked by transactions. The account with the highest number of transactions leads the list while the account with the lowest number lies in the middle. Below the account with the lowest transactions is a list of the people you follow on Steemit.

This is a very good development especially because it is very easy to misspell an account name and send STEEM or SBD to the wrong person. Some people may be good enough to send it back but with the high price of both STEEM and SBD I doubt that most people would be that generous.

You account name appears in the suggestions also.

However, there seems to be a slight error since leading the list of suggestions will probably be your own account. Last time I checked you cannot transfer STEEM or SBD to yourself from your own account. That is probably something the Steem Devs will have to fix in the near future.

Updates that I am hoping to see on Steemit.

While there are other Steemit alternatives like busy.org that do a much better job with the UI and user experience, Steemit remains my all time favorite. I would, however, hope that the Dev's would roll out some new features on the website soon. Below is a quick list.

  1. Better analytics
  2. Ability to bookmark posts.
  3. Better blog post editing tools with keyboard shortcuts.
  4. Reply Notifications and Alerts. [This will improve interaction]
  5. An Android, IOS and Windows application.

Meanwhile, I do appreciate the awesome work that is being done behind the scenes by the Steemit team. I have come to find Steemit to be an amazing community. A great group of people who are caring and are always prepared to help you succeed. So, thank you for that.

Thank you for reading this post. Have a nice day and all the best on Steemit.

Still learning about steem from you guys, let see if I will be able to make these changes myself sometime soon.

You have such a great eye for detail. I had not noticed that. Another update I hope to see is the ability to categorize posts especially for those who write about different things.

Thank you.. I think that is something that is in the works. I understand you will be able to even have communities on Steemit.

I saw this yesterday. Great improvement to avoid sending money to the wrong place.

No more mini-heart attacks when sending funds to another account.
