@thefridge - A new photography community project for Steemit

in steemit •  7 years ago

Hello Steemians, I have something completely new for you today! Or should I say an old idea for a new community.

You see, I've been around online photography communities for quite a few years now, and they have provided some of the best education and growth that I have ever experienced as a photographer.

Starting with Flickr, then Facebook, of course Instagram, but Steemit is sadly a little bit behind in this regard. With many of the modern social media sites there are groups, communities, pages, pods, but all we have on Steemit are tags, so I've been thinking long and hard about a way to bring some community to the photographers of this place. Others have done a fantastic job with the photo challenge, color challenge and all the other challenges we have here, but I want to try something different and see if it can work.

That is why I am starting a community project called @thefridge, it's a group type thing that is going to reward photographers for sharing their work, and you can check it out here: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@thefridge/welcome-to-the-fridge-post-your-photos-on-me

No problem @elevator09

Great idea. I would love to see how this goes.

Thanks @rbbeachdesigns, hope you can participate!

i am still trying to figure out how all of these contests work and guidelines etc. i'm a little perplexed by the amount of photos on steemit with not much (if any) documentation. it would be beneficial to have a sort of minimum requirement so that we aren't competing against photos someone lifts off the net.

Thanks for the input @torico, yes it can be difficult, but trust that I am quite strict about this type of thing. I used to be active with the Steemcleaners community back in the day and I hate to see people plagiarising here. If I see a photo that looks suspicious I will be sure to do a reverse image search and question the author. Hope that we will see you participating @torico!

wow that is really cool thanks for introducing about it
