2017 Cryptocurrency Scams I Have Experienced So Far... How About You?

in steemit •  7 years ago  (edited)

I always tell my business partners that cryptocurrency is a blessing and a curse all at the same time. I have experienced ups and downs in the cryptocurrency world but it seems like the good have out-weighted the bad in every situation. Going into a new cryptocurrency investment gets my creative juices flowing wondering how am I going to share it with the rest of the world.

Most people that I have known for years or even in my family have absolutely no idea what is truly going on in this new economy that has been born but that doesn't keep me from diligently forcing it upon them. In a way, it is a good thing that they don't join me in some of my investments because the bottom falls out before you get to see it blossom. In other cases, I make profit from my investments but yet and still they approach me as if I have done something they can't do or I didn't give them an opportunity to invest as well.

With that being said, please understand the content within this post is coming directly from my own experiences and it does not reflect the personal opinions of no one else. I have been holding on to these feelings for some time now and Steemit is the perfect platform for me to finally let this out. When I put it on black and white, I try to be as honest as possible and say things that others might avoid saying themselves.

BetRobot

The first investment I would like to address that boils my pressure each time I think about it has to be one I thought was most promising. OMG, when I tell you that I was super-pumped about dropping in and testing out my .2 bitcoins as it was expected to grow 6% per day. Now, they say if i seems to good to be true, then it normally is but it was acutally brought to my attention via a seperate bitcoin program that I will mention later. It was offered as a passive bitcoin growing machine, therfore, I couldn't resist a chance to invest once and let it compound my bitcoins. Needless to say, it was all going smooth and I was checking the growth every other day for about a week and then, it hit the fam! It started out with a system update (don't they all), then came back online, went offline again in a couple of days due to the investment growth not calculating correctly. Until this day, I haven't gotten any response from that crypto-stealing ass program. It came like a thgief in the night as I never got to withdraw one dime of my investment before it collapsed or "they" decided to discontinue it. This was not the first time I was swindled but it was my last because I learned my lesson in a major way. So, now I will never invest in any other program that claims to be the best cryptocurrency investment via the Telegram App again.

Platinum World Team Build

Now, this program in particular was not a "cryptocurrency only" program but initially it was to pay out commissions in bitcoin. I could be a bit bitter about the fall of this program because like most of the members, we were making future plans with what we were going to do with our earnings after all of that hard work. That was the second occassion I had built an organization that large and deep in such a short amount of time Although this one is more personal than obvious, many of my business partners that are strong contributers to the MLM industry lost thousands of dollars as well thatv we were in turn going to invest into to cryptocurrency.

So what had happened was, we each paid $100 per position to eventually make $166,000 at the end of the matrix only to see that a majority of us (over 10,000 members) were brought to a standstill. The owner of the program decided that even though we have pending funds/withdrawals showing in our back office, we still couldn't get it out. The one changeable rule that he had the programmer to place in the coding was we had to request a withdrawal before we decided to upgrade in the matrix and go to a higher level or we would not be able to withdraw at all until we complete the next level. In short, if you earned the funds based on your efforts and hard work that built the program, why should it matter when I request a withdrawal if the funds are there. Now the owner has a subscriber's list of over 50,000 people, the monies that was put in for the positions that was never paid out to the members had to be around $30,000+ that the program pocketed and he changed his decision to refund any chargebacks in my opionion knowing that one rule would benefit him in the end. He made a ton of money, the activity in the program has decreased by over 50% in my opinion and he is now trying to revamp and add new features to the program in order to keep it from evaporating like their previous program did. But at the same time, he is also making new videos weekly promoting his new business ventures that he used our funds to invest with from that debacle called Platinum Worl Team Build. Some stay and most left but that guy will never have another successful business online because he scammed the very people that made his business a household name in a short amount of time.

As one can see int he image above, I still have $300.00 available in my balance, the processor selected is Bitcoin for payment withdrawal, he is charging $20.00 just to make a withdrawal, the max amountt o withdraw is $0.00 (?) and then it says I do not have enough funds to withdraw, wow. Are you confused yet? The date is also reading today's date just to prove to you that his system is still holding funds of mine and thousands more. So, in my opinion, I would advise anyone that is thinking about joining this program, to stay far away!

This program was brought to my attention by one of my trusted business partners as she was informed by a friend of hers that a program was paying 600% interest for Bitcoin investments. Like all smart people, we set back and watched her friend invest and withdraw a few times plus the website said it been around for over 60 days which is a plus with most cryptocurrency programs. The time came for us to invest fiat currency or USD in order to get the BTC payouts at 600%. She invested and I couldn't resist, so I invested and the website said after 24 hours we can make a withdrawal request. After 24 hours, she made a withdrawal request and it never came but instead it was showing pending. She checked the FAQs and conveniently it said if the withdrawal was pending, one must contact support. She contacted support and they responded that she had to pay another $140.00 in order to get her withdrawal amount as that would ensure a reinvestment instead of a one-time cashout and her pin code needed to be reset. She decided to send the additional monies after 2 days of thinking because the 600% was looking enticing in her wallet. How about the responded the next time telling her to send an additional $500.00 in order to withdraw all the funds showing available in her back office. Insane!

So I decided to contact them knowing what she just went through and instead of telling me to send an additional $140.00, they told me to send an additional $200.00 to get my pin code reset. I immediately asked for a refund as a reply and they sent me the same message again. I again asked for a refund or I would report them and they haven't responded since. What was crazy is their site said to contact support if funds show pending but nowhere on their site does it say you will have to send additional funds in order to unlock a pin code or to ensure sending more funds would show how serious you are as an investor.

Oh yeah, her friend go away with at least $8000.00 from his withdrawals somehow and he was contacted bt Grabtc asking him to send them $2000.00 for taxes from the funds he received and they haven't heard back from him since. Lol. I think he got his before the site got too popular and they were possibly trying to recover some of the funds that they feel they lost even though they promised it. So if you run across anything or anyone promoting Grabtc, go the opposite direction.

This is more of a testimony than a scam report. I actually liked Gladiacoin because I made back all the funds in Bitcoin that I put into this program. They have recently made some major changes to the structure and payouts obviously because I see many people are starting to call it a scam. The site does now say something pertaining to the statement of everyone that invests will make at least their investment back but they are also charging a 15% fee. That fee didn't exist in the beginning and maybe Gladiacoin bit off more than they could chew. Defintely invest at your own risk if you decide to invest with Gladiacoin but I have no clue of their future direction.

Now this business was to be the savior of all Bitcoin enthusiasts, at least the ones in my circle. It was explained to us to be one program that will house and share multiple BTC opportunities under one roof. So I fell in love with it instantly as I should be able to leverage from one business to the next without paying any additional bitcoins.

So I invested as requested, I recruited my 2 personals plus 19 additional personals looking to move up the matrix ranks and start receiving higher BTC deposits to my wallet as the individuals below me joined the program. If I tell you that I paid for the first two levels out of pocket and didn't move another inch in that program. The owner clearly stated that the system was designed for people to almost automatically ranked up even if they don't recruit any personals but the new members will follow you as the fall under you.

He has added, changed and rearranged that program multiple times in less than 60 days. He kept adding and removing different programs as passive income providers including BetRobot in our back office as well for him to maximize his crypto earnings while he can. Needless to say he got paid from the additional programs and many people in our FB Group were highly upset because they were not seeing any results after adding paying individuals and attempting to earn from the passive programs. Finally he opened a couple of new features that were almost guaranteed to help everyone win more but at the end of the day, he closed them both down and said he would refund all of the Bitcoin deposits or earned. I went in circles with his support staff about receiving some of my BTC back before they were going to compress out the free members including me as I advised support I was not going to pay out of pocket again and once I receive my BTC back that were tied up in the system from his changes, then I may decide to reinvest. Until this day, I never received my BTC back and I was eventually compressed out of the system as a free member because it was a monthly BTC subscription based program that I decided to not keep feeding without promised results.

He says over $500,000 has been paid of in BTC to the members but many of the members are wondering who is receiving those withdrawal request. All the hype has died down and the program may bot ever be the same in my opinion because too many members never won.

Now that I have all of that out, I feel liberated knowing that I may help the next entrepreneur save themselves from the scams in my opinion. Being honest is always the best choice, therfore this shall set others free that wanted someone to express their feeling about these program.

Nice read. I'm sorry those swindles happened to you... if it's too good to be true, then it probably isn't...

The cryptospace is like the the wild Wild West unfortunately. Although it makes everything very interesting.

Have you been scammed or experienced any thus far in crypto

Not yet! I normally play it very safe I must say. I have participated in my first ICO recently... I bought Wagerr. Hopefully they will continue developing and release their concept soon!

I'm going to have to check that one out, thanks. By the way ProCoin is going for $0.07 per coin right now while the price is at $0.20... let me know if you are interested asap!

I got into Crypto by someone 'advising' me to get into One-Coin, I worked out it was a scam, and in my research found ethereum and co :-) wow though, some dudes got so ripped by One-Coin.....omg.

People actually say one coin is making a comeback next year, I guess we shall see! @mrbitty
