7,777.777 Is My New Lucky Number (Also The Amount Of Steem Power I Got - So Far)

in steemit •  8 years ago  (edited)

As I was checking my Steemit wallet this morning (an activity which tends to happen on autopilot, lately), I noticed this very interesting pattern:

Now, for many people, 7 is a lucky number. It's also quite popular in pop culture or foklore: Snow White had seven dwarf friends, the week has seven days and so on.

7777.777 is also the highest number you can write with 7 digits in octal, if you don't take into account the separator (now I'm getting geeky, I know, can't help it). If you convert 7777777 from octal to decimal you get 4095, which is kinda boring, but not if you add 1 to it, and get 4096, which, converted to binary, gives us 0001000000000000. Now that's interesting. I could play with that all day, you know...

Also, according to numerology.com:

The number 7 is the seeker, the thinker, the searcher of Truth (notice the capital "T"). The 7 doesn't take anything at face value -- it is always trying to understand the underlying, hidden truths. The 7 knows that nothing is exactly as it seems and that reality is often hidden behind illusions.

Now, I wonder what's hidden under that wall of sevens in my wallet. I'll let you know when I'll find out.

P.S. I cheated a bit: I only had 7771 when I checked my wallet, so I did a quick power up, just to be able to take that wonderful screenshot.

I want you to always cheat and power up steem... If that is cheating then everybody should learn how to cheat...hahaha!

Haha i knew you cheat :) my finest numbers are 8 and 7 because i was born 8.7. 1987 :) i want to have 8787 steem :)

Congrats on achieving that lucky amount. Even with a little bit of slight cheating, it's hard to get figures like that.

@dragoroua - It has been a while since someone mentioned Octal numbers. (and Hex for that matter). The world is all about decimal system now. What an amazing coincidence (helped by a little power up cheat) that you got that perfect max octal number as your steem power Very interesting, Thanks for sharing. Upvoted

Update at my end is that I have posted a blog with Original GIFs of 💕𝓐 𝓓𝓪𝓽𝓮 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓛𝓲o𝓷𝓮𝓼𝓼𝓮𝓼 that you may find interesting. I would be honored if you visit my blogs and take a look. Your valuable comments will be eagerly awaited. Thanks

I like cool numbers, but I don't believe they have special meaning. 7 does crop up a lot in culture. I think in China they like 8, but then 4 is bad for them, like 13 for some people. There was no 13th floor in a building I worked in.

Anyway, congratulations on having more S than you did before!

Yes, I know about cultural differences regarding auspicious numbers, especially the popularity of 8 in Asia. I was interested in numerology for a while and did quite a lot of reading (also astrology, which t the date still proves to be a valuable context descriptor). Funny that you didn't have a 13th floor :)

I'm more interested in numbers like Pi and e. They help define the universe. People will believe anything :)

That's a huge amount but one that all minnows should aspire too

7 is definitely your lucky number :)

Everybody was a minnow at some point...

too true :)

777 - many dream for that to happen :))

You know what is even more lucky? 77,777.777 !

I like how you think :)

haaha super awesome perfect timing.

I didn't realise there is so much behind such a menial number like 7,777.777
I don't know why but I find it a little bit daunting and intimidating for some weird reason but that may be my dislike for everything being the same
Let's see if something lucky happens after hitting this milestone @dragosroua haha

hehe, nice milestone, and even though you cheated to capture it... well deserved.

I like your trivia analogies to numerology! Keep steeming and bringing us the educational news you create... let's add another 7 ;)

Let's :)

7 is the most powerful and sacred number

Even if you had to help a bit with a tiny bit of Steem, it's still a pretty awesome milestone! I like non-round milestones than base ten ones. For instance, your next milestone can be 77783 which is the next prime number. Unfortunately, that's too close. But I think prime numbers are better milestones than base 10s.

Nice find, that prime number ;)

The luckiest SP number ever. Now you'll definitely get to 10k soon.

Like my birth date is the 7th. Hopefully we can be equally lucky, you are lucky with your steem number, me with my birthday:)

Seven is great. And I'm constantly frightened when a few sixes appear on the account :)

0001000000000000

But the 4th and 13th lottery ticket options.

I'm big on biblical numerology. 7 is the number of completion.

Didn't know that about 7 in the Bible.

I think that you will be a lucky guy soon and have my upvote in order to send in my support. / is indeed a lucky number.

Thanks and keep steeming.

@dragosroua,
Congratz for the great achievement and congratz for the lucky number!!!!
