INTRODUCING: STEEMIT ACCELERATOR HUB (STACH).

in steemit •  7 years ago  (edited)

stach.jpgThe Steemit Accelerator Hub, (STACH) is an accelerator planned with Nigerians in mind as a particular target and newbies in general. Like any thriving hub, STACH is concerned with offering first the one thing that is lacking in the Nigerian and African Steemit space-- an Education, and then Collaboration.
Without an opportunity for education and collaboration, subsequent growth and productivity become dormant or impossible.

After several meetings and discussions with @donkeypong who by the way, has taken it upon himself to promote the Nigeria brand here on Steemit, it became imperative that there needs to be a rallying point where the average Nigerian youth can get educated and trained on the workings and benefits of Steemit. This move will provide an enabling community for collaboration and growth.

WHY STACH
Looking around Nigeria, you will see a disappointing reality of the failure of a system that only teaches dependency on state provided jobs and assets, and this has made it near impossible for the youths and citizenry to aspire beyond what they are thought to know.
With the discovery of Steemit by most Nigerians, we have come to see a much bigger world that teaches self dependency and growth powered by community participation. A place where liberty-minded people are welcomed to create their world, mine their earnings, and transact in STEEM cryptocurrency that is instant and free to use.

THE TEAM
The STACH team is made up of myself @ejemai, @outhori5ed, @kamaraoti, @kennyc and @dante21 and our technical adviser is @donkeypong. Each member of the team are versed in various activities and we will be revealing these in future posts.

ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR
ph.jpg
We have been working tirelessly behind the scenes in recruiting Nigerians on Steemit and we have also gone a step further to educate them about the Steemit ecosystem. We recently stormed the University of Port Harcourt for the first ever Steemit promotion in Nigeria and we successfully shared 700 flyers to students and lecturers, opened 20 new accounts on the spot and presently managing over 80 intending steemians via a whatsapp group, and we are gradually onboarding them.IMG_20170728_134024.jpg

BENEFITS
The hub is going to serve a useful purpose for Nigerians in particular and for the Steemit ecosystem in general.

  • An education and training center.- The Steemit Accelerator Hub will be a meeting point for training and the education of newbies and also for existing members looking to invest further I Steemit and the many other ventures associated with it. It is clear that without an education development and active growth will be minimal and practically impossible.
  • A Collaboration/Meeting center.- The hub will serve as a collaboration and meeting center for steemians in the city the hub is located. Technological, technical and financial investment collaborations will be facilitated through the hub, as most people are only aware that they can blog on Steemit.
The hub will be the address for the holding of meetups, planning for rallies and parades and a general meeting point for all things steem looking to take place in and around the city.
  • Free WiFi center.- Running a successful internet life in Nigeria costs between N10,000 to N25,000 monthly and for those on "semi-successful" plans, N5,000 to N10,000 is the price, (any plan below that is epileptic, like the power situation). The hub will provide free WiFi service for steemians to enable them get online and steem.
Of course, free WiFi means well and with the constant power failure as experienced in Nigeria, the hub will be home to steemians who will truly live in the steemit ecosystem that provides everything to enable their growth.
  • Freedom center.- This is particularly what the hub will represent and it will be a win for the average Nigerian youth who truly deserve a chance at participating in contests, competitions and developmental endeavors like their peers in developed communities.
We are particularly sure that the hub will be a place where new innovations that will add to Steemit and even best it will be born. Peer to Peer exchange will be the order of the day.

6 MONTH TARGET
The purpose for the hub's creation is to encourage participation and provide an education and training center for Nigerians who are and will be getting involved in the new reality that is Steemit. We have a target to before the end of the first 6 months of operation, register, train and educate at least 10,000 Nigerians who can hold their own on the Steemit platform and even become trending earners and investors.
There is also the overall target of #Project20millionNaija that is expected to start from the first STACH and gradually getting to other hubs which are penciled to kick off in other locations in the coming months.

MODEL
STACH will become a model that we plan to replicate around the 36 states of the Nigerian federation in a bid to facilitate peer to peer exchange and get 20 million people on Steemit by 2018.
The #Project20millionNaija campaign we started a while back will only be achieved through the creation of at least 2 STACH centers in major cities of the country. Registering new Nigerians is not enough, helping then remain in Steemit and staying grounded with the workings and operations of the platform and returning as winners is the goal.
After the Port Harcourt launch, we anticipate opening more locations around the country before the end of the year.

COSTS OF SETTING UP THE FIRST STACH
Setting up of STACH which is the first in the series of a developmental marvel will be in the University of Port Harcourt axis so as to be able to capture the students and budding youthful community resident in the Oil Rich State of Nigeria.

RUNNING OF STACH

Thank you @onequality. this idea is in its time and will quickly catch up on the Nigerian nation for good.

Una dey do well. As long as Steemit holds out (which it should), it is a grand opportunity for a lot of young talented Nigerians (including hopefully myself) to learn a lot, meet a lot of people, start projects and make a little (or potentially, a lot) of cash

thank you for getting excited at the future rewards this venture holds and I am sure you will benefit no doubt.

Thank you for creating/promoting the venture in the first place. It's very exciting and I am glad to be part of it in any way, however tangential.

ok, you can reach me in Steemit chat and then we can talk. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Wow... @ejemai you took a big step to take steemit to another level in nigeria.... Wow, i will like to do same with my steemit team in kwara state.. God bless you with this idea, i will also resteem this post for more people to get informed....

thank you my broda. The Steem! is strong

Thanks for that! I really need the steem right now. I was hit really hard by 3 flag missiles. My reputation just tanked. Uughhh!

sorry about that. What ever brought about the flagging I am sure is avoidable. You can still work your way back from the ground

Yes. It is totally avoidable, there are many other ways to go about it, our nigerian admins were just a bit too trigger happy, but its all good. I love to work things from the ground up. It will be an interesting comeback to watch out for.

Eyeneka, mkpō abadie? Afo do ke Steemit? Mme ukeene idaha'ado

Abadie my broda, I may not know the full words but I know its goodwill. Thank you for lending your support.

Awesome. I love your all-roundness. Are you in Lagos? It'll be a delight to sit with you and we just talk Steemit. Meanwhile I'll really love if you can take a look at my most recent here. If you love it let me know 😉

My voting power is not much and I am not in a financial position to donate as yet but you will definitely have my upvote for initiatives like these that help educate and empower the under privileged in society. I love what you are doing in your country, I will continue to support the movement in any way that I can, continue the good work. Bless..

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement, it means a lot and makes us work more. We are just doing the best we can to contribute to nation building and hope it helps in more ways than one.

I am also at the same position. As we are fellow Steemians, we should help him. Unfortunately, as I am newbie, don't have steem-power and money. Even though, I've upvoted you. Thanks

thank you, it helps that you stopped by to lend your support

This is extremely great. I am happy to be on this team. #project20millionnaija is a success

thank you for trusting in new ideas and working to see it work.

A laudable project, I pray it succeeds.

thanks, we all pray it does too as we are working round the clock

thank you.

^_^

Great initiative here mate, hope you succeed, having Nigerians get educated on steemit and crypto technology, is one of our main mission as curators here. Supporting you with my limited power.

my voting power is also not much but i am delighted to see such an awesome community come together like this.

thank you @paulag for stopping by and lending your support.

Looking to learn from your stories and experience setting all of these up!

Thank you for liking this initiative and lending your support, really appreciated. When steemians like you take particular interest in what we do, it makes us feel we are up to some good. That thought alone makes us put up the grind to get better at our craft.

All the best on this project and much success to everyone in Nigeria. All hard work is worth it.

thank you very much for your support.

God bless nigeria .i live in lagos and would also like to share this

The average Nigerian youth struggles to stay online just for fun, I guess Steemit will make their stay online profitable. Thank you for this initiative and more support for your work.

thank you

thank you, you just made a valuable point here.

and also add value to their time spent

This article really helps us understand how to write good in Steemit. The story of Steemians friends in Nigeria is very inspiring to us.

thank you for getting inspired by us Nigerians. we are equally inspired by you guys too and hope these inspirations make the world a better place

I love this. God bless Nigeria. Nigerians no dey carry last. I'm residing in Jos, plateau state. I can be your ambassador here on the PLATEAU. I've upvote your posts and also follow you. We can initiate discussion via steem chat. I'll be expecting your response. StayGreat

thank you @greatsam. Nigeria is very big and getting hardworking people as yourself doing their best to do some good is what the goal of #Project20millionNaija is about, so yes I will be speaking to you soon!

Thanks I'll be expecting. God bless us all and God bless Nigeria

Wow. Great job. Kudos

thank you

Welcome..is been a while. Check out my new post. Thanks

I really hope this catches on. Because we know how nigerians can be at times, you are budgeting 150k for computers? hope it isnt those pentium 1 types. . . . .

I have seen groups and chats dedicated to training nigerians only, I don't think having a central hub will solve any problem. I mean, people have work to go to, and basically only use steemit on their free time, getting a central hub at the end will only benefit the initiator of the program. And were you to leave steemit will the facilities be handed over?

Amazing this is coming at the right time... Keep the good work... May u succeed in this knowledge and source of wealth you are trying to impact

Thank you. Nigeria is our own and we must do everything we can to make things sweet.

This is a welcome idea and I will do the little I can to support. My voting power is low but I will upvote your posts, resteem and share the good news to others.

Thanks for the support. Everything thought counts and we appreciate you.

Very Rewarding. Things like this should always be developed, so that in can help all over the world

thank you, the world need more people like you.

Best regards steemians from Nigeria. Hopefully we will triumph

we are triumphant, thank you.

nice post bro..@trillex and @ericdyce, you guys remember us having this discussion yeah? nice

I'm really pleased with what you are doing. I was in Sierra Leone with Crossroads Africa, helping to build a secondary school but more importantly learning about the joyousness and resiliance of the people there despite many challenges... and since then I've held the people of West Africa in my heart and prayers. I just found steemit last week so I don't have much juice yet but I am following you and very pleased, oh I said that!!

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

thanks my broda, its a team effort and we are always looking to work with more people. How come we didn't see you when we stormed your school?:) Anyways, lets talk on steemit chat so that you can join us right away.

Wao, sounds great, this is one of the best thing that can happen to we Nigerians... I pray you all succeed more knowledge and SBD to all old and new steemian account!!!KIP THE GOOD WORK
