Thank you, great information. I'm really new to Steemit and do find myself getting frustrated when someone can post a picture of some ducks with 5 words and make $100.
But, rather than getting angry, I just continue to do my own thang, and write about things that inspire me and uplift me, and not do it for the money. Just as a way to get content and information out into the world. At the end of the day, if I'm proud of what I've done and created then it's a good day.

Thanks for this post though, hopefully it will help more and more people to use their voting power on articles that matter and make a difference.

My next goal will be making $100 with 1 picture of 1 duck. You can replace the duck with every animal you like ;-P

hahahahahahaha... can you say a little story about it when you do? XD

something like "this is my picture of a duck" or way longer XD but "salamat, po"

WAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH your life... your choice hahah

Not a bad goal!

Same sentiments here when I was new to Steemit. But, it's more rewarding when I finally post something that I want to get rid off from my chest. Steemit is like a breath of fresh air to me :)

I appreciate you stopping by here! I understand your fustrations! There will hopefully be solutions to this issues you speak of.

Loading...

I often see wonderful original photographs on Steemit but most of the time with no text. Eventhough it’s totally OK, I feel like it’s missing something. Steemit is not Flickr but even on Flickr I used to write a description on how the photo was taken.

On Steemit I want to read more about the photo I’m admiring. Why the photographer took the photo of that subject, under that angle, choosing that time of the day? What did he feel when he saw the subject? Do I feel the same looking at his photograph? Why was he at that specific location on the day? Was it for the specific purpose of taking a photo of the subject? Or was the photographer just passing by and noticed a photographic opportunity?

I totally agree with you because we also want to know the character / personality of the photographer. It's like it doesn't make any sense when all you see is just a photo, right?! It will give more flavor to the photo when it has description, a story or logic behind that.

Exactly!

I passed by an amazing photographic opportunity today. Unfortunately I was with boss man on a mission so we couldn't stop to take the photo. Every inch of this one car had some sort of emblem, miniaturize figurine or statue, or action figure permanently attached to it. There was even all those things on the RIMS! oh well, hopefully I will see it again. I hear ya on needing more descriptions with photography on Steemit though. Thank you for your input homie.

You have great vision don't worry you'll be just fun and will find 1000 more great things to photograph for every one missed opportunity you happen to have occasionally!

I know that thing was crazy though!

Gotta love steepshot now you can post pics and have someone take a % too!

Ah their power sharing thing

No their taking a % of your post just to be able to use multiple tags past 5. Kind of silly just for a picture. I mean why wasnt instagram incorporated into facebook?

I absolutely agree on what your point was. But, I'm sorry I admit. Shorty has touched my heart even more. She's soo adorable.. :)))))

Seriously though, you have enlightened me and encouraged me to do some more research on my future blogs. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. :)

Thank you, yes Shorty is a heartthrob for sure! I am thrilled that I have inspired you to put more love into your articles, although it seems like you are doing a fantastic job already from what I can see!. Blessings sister!

Nice explanation of copyrights @elamental.
And a good start on the different types of posts here on Steemit.

  • Let me start by saying Steemit is great and I am very bullish on it.
    • But Steemit is also very lacking on fairly rewarding effort.
      • As SMTs become available, I think that will make things more fair. Not just having SMTs available, but enterprising individuals and groups who creatively setup specialty types of sites using SMTs.
  • As it is right now, Steemit is very frustrating to those who try to provide quality content, referred to in this post as "publishing articles."
    • I think once Steemit splits into different apps with different reward systems (their own SMT), it will become much more fair.
      • For instance, for those into photography, they can have their own site. And the rewards will not be competing here on Steemit with those who publish articles.
  • I look for much competition for eyeballs.
    • Currently Facebook and Google are the top web sites of the Internet. Mainly by accomplishing the 2 things I saw the Internet doing back in '95 when I discovered the www: 1) Connect people to people and 2) Connect people to information.
      • So I look for a direct facebook competitor to be started using SMTs, where it's more about sharing other people's works (and I do think it possible to make sourcing the original author an integral part of the platform) and sharing our boring details of our own life. (connecting people to people)
      • I also look for some type of crowd sourced directory to replace Google as the goto site to find information. (connecting people to information)
Parley is actually a very good start to this, if they continue on and form it into a directory. It is much too temporary at this point, and needs to expand into something like dmoz, if you remember that. Or the original yahoo directory.
      • I also look for someone to develop a wiki based on SMTs to be in direct competition with and to overcome Wikipedia. (again connecting people to information)

One vast improvement to the platform and any sub-platform that is yet to be developed would be to have long term type payouts. Maybe a quick payout of 7 days, but then some way to collect rewards maybe forever. Your work ethic will increase when long term rewards are available for quality content well past the 7 days allowed here on Steemit. People will have a greater incentive to create great articles rather than just posts...

@ned has suggested he expects 100,000 new SMTs within a short time of them being released. That should provide for some great competition and a win-win for both content producers and content consumers.

Great points, & very well established statements. I will say that splitting up the types of content would be less advantageous to someone like me who includes original photography AND original writing in a lot of my posts. I like mixing it all together. I am in favor of a better rewards system that favors higher quality content though.

I would hope that someone would develop a front end which allows people to choose which apps they want to see the content from so our own blogs will include our diversity of interests. Steemit currently displays the content from all of the apps which have developed. However, Steemit is not a good interface.

All your stuff is original duder. Your one of the most original m fers on Steemit. Nothing but original realness all day long from you! Im waiting for you to start doing your dlive shows you dont even know about yet😮!

ha, right on. I might set that up at the record release party. Thank you for your kind words.

It's just a simple observation! You're this ball of talent yet to fully assume his position at the top!

Wow.

Same here. That's all I can say, too. @dynamicgreentk 😁 😂 This is what I was talking about last night with you.

But hey @wizardave, I'm literally speechless on all the info you've shared with us. Very informative and well-explained. I support your idea on long-term incentive for those who create a nicely well-written article. I'm following you now as im looking forward to reading more of your works. 🤗😁

That was a full on quality comment if id ever seen one!

@elamental I 100% agree with 98% of your article. Steem is a platform they is going to eventually be able (it it continues and someone doesn't make something better) to incorporate what I would consider a vast array of different types of content. Articles being the lengthiest and most informative, then you have blog posts which I would consider is considerably shorter than a true article but much more than a post, then you have posts which could consist of short few liners, motivational quotes with photos or a picture, photo posts in general. Steem should have the vision to incorporate all of these in their own separate way.

You should be able to curate the content on what interests you and have others do the same. Not few people up top curating the same people with the most influence regardless of the knowledge and how good they write about a certain topic they do not know much about.

Currently the trending page is mostly garbage with type of posts like the above. I forsee the vast migration of influenced content to quality content making a headways over the next couple years and every attempting to make quality content, if they stand together, will make a splash and succeed in the end. Nice Post!

I agree with you. We should all support those who clearly made an effort for their article or even a blog post. In this way, the trending page are mostly composed of comprehensible topics that one can gain from it. But, I wonder if this will still work in Steemit as we all know, there are several bots available and anyone can avail of that. I admit that I have used some of them but it's just for resteem and not going beyond 1sbd, and the blog that I know is worthy for the readers to see. This is why I'm a fan of my sister @evlachsblog's blogs because you'll see that she works for each of her blog with professionalism.

Oh wow! How did I not see this? Thank you for this mention. I am really flattered. But yes, I take pride in my work. I want to do the right thing all the time as much as possible.

Thank you sis @dynamicshine for your encouragement.

Doing the write thing can be fun!

The write thing and the right thing.... both are fun, although one of the two can be a bit boring.

Is that why Kimmy is so bored? She too busy writing?

Kimmy is never bored. She just looks bored. She's always outdoors and living the life to the fullest, and always bringing home her prizes (although I don't want her to).

Miki, on the other hand, has always been an indoor cat and loves to read books with me. I guess, she's the boring one, but I don't mind since she is more cuddly and more affectionate.

20180411_022921.jpg

Haha I see what you did there!!

And on that note...you've just been post promoted against your own will!

haaa! thanks for the promotion! I was surprised when I got promoted as an ambassador in your discord XD like "what am I gonna do?" , "I wasn't informed!" LOL but I'm glad to have met you all.. :)

There is totally a blog post category that sits in between articles and posts. I forgot to mention that, thank you for you input, its a nice addition to this article.

Eh @everyone( 😝) knows its all about the 'hot' section.

@elamental Great points you have stated there.
You've simplified the entire concept of copyright and through this post I have sincerely discovered the need for referencing and acknowledgment of sources of work. This you did when you stated in simple but clear terms the fact that copyright is a natural right and creators should be accorded the same level of protection and rights as they would have over any other real or physical property. That has stock with me and has changed my entire idea of copyrights and the real need to acknowledge an author for his works.
From the way you broke down into simple terms the entire somewhat complex legal aspect of copyright, I'm tempted to believe that you may be a lawyer.. Or are you?
I was initialy drawn to this write up by @dynamicshine for competitional/contest reasons, but having read what I have, I can sincerely say that the knowledge that I have garnered from this piece is far more rewarding than any reward I may get from any contest whatsoever. I have just followed you and wouldn't want to miss any subsequent sought of intellectual write such as this.
You have by this article challenged me in my blogging life to look beyond the immediate rewards. As you had rightly stated that a quality article is compensation enough for the reader.
Thank you for this and keep up the good work.
@dynamicshine thank you for this opportunity of enlightenment. I would say the footsteps of the righteous are ordered by the lord.
Do have a great day ahead.

Yes, we all have to be very careful in posting our blogs with proper referencing of the real author. When I was starting blogging here, I was innocent until somebody told me I have to properly credit it. I've learned my mistake and since then, I never have done anything that could disrespect any author. But, we can't deny there are still people who seemingly don't know how to respect others and still plagiarize.

Thank you for joining in on here. I'm just trying to help this community and because I love what I'm seeing here on Steemit so far as I'm learning a lot from different people and their cultures. Have a great day to you, too. @michaelemmanuel

I am so glad this is reaching so many Steemians and influencing their content creation in a positive manor, as well as expanding their knowledge on copyrights. That was the main intention behind writing this article.

I am not a lawyer btw. Although I know more about law now than I ever did. It is quite complex however, and I really only know certain categories of law, and general law. But I am by no means an expert.

Wow.. That's great..I'm surprised that you are not a lawyer.
I'm a lawyer myself and i can say you did an excellent job breaking down the concept of copyrights. Keep up the good work.

Are you an intellectual property lawyer by any chance?

No I'm more of a Real Estate Lawyer.. But I'm vast with Intellectual Property Laws as well.

What state do you practice real estate law in? I am actually having an issue in that realm and could use a couple answers to a questions I have. Are you on Discord by chance?

I'm a Nigerian, Although I practice in Nigeria for now, I believe I would still have some knowledge that could be beneficial to you. Irrespective of Location, principles of Law in most cases are generally the same, we may just have differences in procedures and application.
I'm always available to help. My username on discord is @michaelemmanuel

Thank you buddy, I appreciate it.

He is nigeria bro

ah ok, gotcha.

In America(are you from btw?), it is said that every family needs a lawyer in the family. Are you the dynamicsteemians lawyer now?🤓

Yea right.. I have heard that saying myself.. However, I'm not an American, I'm a Nigerian.
My services are always available to family and dynamicsteemians is like family.

awww.. you should join in on our community discord :)

Yea.. I'm already a member. You guys are doing an amazing Job @dynamicsteemians. Keep up the good work of support and encouragement.

Thank you!

Love you bro!

@elamental is quite alluring with his original content huh?

My professors in college used to tell me that Wikipedia is not a "credible source" to use in published articles, and the only internet sources that are "credible" are .edu website

I was told so to last year and I guess the reason for that is because Wikipedia is an open source where any one can make contributions whether valid or invalid. So to some extent, it is not 100% valid but some part can be used to make comparison with other sources.

The point I want to get across is that there is a near perfect 50/50 split among Steemians who post, and Steemians who publish articles. The rewards seem to be split 50/50 respectively across the platform as a whole in those two categories as well. A lot of Steemians that pour passion into their writing, videos, music, and/or photography get paid less than many Steemians that just simply post. I watch it happen all the time, and so does everyone else.

That is so true because some came for money, others for the passion while the third category came for the money and passion. So if the steem platform must grow, the reward system should be in a way that good content should be rewarded, else we would continue in posting rather than publication.

yea I agree with the categories you've said. I classify myself under the 3rd one actually. My primary inspiration once I earn here is my younger brother who has 4 kids. I wanted to save my earnings here to be able to send some Christmas presents for his kids. As you know, I am a full time housewife and can't work yet. When I was still in the Philippines, it was my own tradition to buy gifts for them every Christmas. I treat them like my own. And if il be blessed more from my blogs, I would share it through community activities here such as creating a contest like I recently have done. We can do many things here on Steemit.

I hope you enjoy being here as I do, @inspiredgideon1 :)

God bless. :)

Yea it has being wonderful here on the steem platform. Meeting great people while I earn, also building my writing skills because my study in school is different from my hobby as a writer. In my final year in school studying mathematics and statistics, so building my writing skills and spellings is so needful.

I also came for the money while my passion keeps me going even when the pay is low. The steem platform has being feeding me and it has being good but not too easy.

Well for the Christmas gift, I hope I will also get some portion of it?

Why not? 😉

Ok then. Will be patiently waiting

OMG this is great and I am so AGAINST Wikipedia, for the reasons you just stated. Yes there is the argument against such apps like Parley that I use and also Steepshot and others, oh well the argument continues.

When I am writing an in depth post then I only use fact based articles to support my work and feel it SHOULD be sourced, also all photos and videos, even if it says YouTube the author deserves credit.

Further, where can I get one of those BADASS Custom Sigs??!!!

Love,
Eagle

PS. The name Shorty is Fckn hilarious and I just Love Love Love it!!

Yes I don't trust Wikipedia either because I can also edit any articles on that site lol. I haven't tried that Parley or Steepshot apps yet. Still, there are lots of things to learn here on Steemit and day by day, I learn a lot from gtreat authors like you @eaglespirit. I love reading your blogs.

for sure regarding trust! was this your post or enigmas? :)
there are arguments about them not being "noteworthy" so don't tell anyone i suggested them to you. i actually do not suggest them if only for the fact pp might chase me down saying i gave you bad things to do. buahahahah like em errrr greentk ahahahah
awww thank you so much, and when i get more power i'm coming by you blog. i had to catch up on all my comments today. :)

Using Wiki forces you to back-check the sources on Wiki, however if the Wiki sources check out, then there is no reason you cannot use Wiki as a source. Although it is probably a little better just to cite the valid source in the Wiki article you reference. Either way works.

yes it does, mandatory. so imo why start there when we can do OUR OWN to begin WITH?? LOL plus it was engrained in my head never start middle or finish there evaaahhhhh professors!!! automatic FAIL

lol, right.

right right right

Write, write, and write!

HAHAHA! You made me laugh gorgeous, @eaglespirit!

The middle is usually where we can find the plot twist to propel the hero forward and sometimes even the climax in the story, long after the character has lead us on a boring 'get to know me' period in the beginning.

i was still talking about wiki 😛
“wiki is a start” that i was responding to. many pplfeel this way. my point is wiki is no good start, middle or “climax”. its just bad.

@eaglespirit, I hand sketched this design on graph paper originally:
ORIGIONAL_SKETCH_WM.pngTM

And then paid @baa.steemit to turn it into a digitized version, then he made 4 different color variants, and then I turned the variants into a gif & reduced its size with Photoscape:

ELAemcee_logo_anigif_WM_30.gifTM

I am using watermarked versions for now until I get the official trademark paperwork.

dang sh is tighhhttt !! great job you two ... i need one .. of course something eagleesk

hit up @baa.steemit if you have a scanned drawing or a design in mind. That is his thing, he is a graphic designer, & imo an essential part of Dynamic Steemians.

yeah i dont have a drawing but thanks anyways!! hahahaha

ps. i love BAA!! :)

just find an artist and commission them to draw the design to your specifications, and then send it to BAA to digitize. That's what @hempress is doing for her organic clothing company logo, wait till you see it you will love it. It is soooo coooool!

i think i found one, but dood is like 12 sbd 🤣🤣

That is not a bad price if the artist is talented.

This is actually a really good explanation between a post and a published article.
I suppose most people tend to sway towards posts rather than publication simply because articles can be rather long, and not many people (especially in the internet age) have much of an attention span to meticulously read through unless the material actually serves viable information.

Hence, the popularity of people posting tend to earn more than those who really do research and made a full fledged article (publication) especially you are relying on organic viewers, comments and upvotes.

That, I find is one of the reason tweeter and instagram was more efficient than facebook (at certain times) and wordpress; just like how Dmania took Steemit by storm for a while and Steepshot surpassed the usual Steemit platform.

Great insight still. I am going to make sure this post of your (though expired) to in the #teammalaysia resources section so that newbies can read this through.

Thank you for making time to share this with us.

I can fell all of your bloody when writing this post. I totally agree with you. One more thing I can tell is true emotion. At the beggining when I start to write post in Steemit, I don't know how to write and write about what. So, I tried to write some news I read in the newspaper. And no one like it. Then I tried to write about my life, my family, my true feeling. And there is a little upvote. I relize that, nothing is attractive more than your true emotion. When I wrote it, I didn't think too much about skill, I just showed my emotion by words naturally, no need skill.

Nothing beats showing your true inner self when writing. :)

Excellent point! Expressing you true emotions with passionate writing makes THE BEST Steemit articles. Blessings my friend.

Steemit is best served with a heaping spoon full of love and well, more love duh!

you're right. I'm thankful Steemit a lot

yes I am too! It helps us connect with each other. You'll be surprised sometimes there are people who can connect with you in an instant even if we all come from different cultures, countries, etc.,

Better than instant coffee I will admit!

of course! brewed coffee is the best LOL <3

This is a great post. It should really go farther on everyone's trending blog if we all can Resteem as I did. It a post which will gear up the minnows who wants to quit because of low earnings. This will really differentiate between post and publish for cheetah not to flag content. And for we all that earns low, just keep accelerating

Thank you. The amount this article is helping fellow Steemians is greatly exceeding my expectations.

Help. I need somebody. Not just anybody...

What kind of help do you need by the way?

Not just anybody

I think the only ones who would give up, are those who don't have the passion in writing or even express their experiences through writing. Like me, I started January of this year, but I think I only tried twice to encash what I've earned from here and it was just about around 10 sbd just to check if it's gonna work and for me to learn how to do it. Since then, I haven't earned so much and guess what? I'm still here and never have given up. I encourage you and others to do the same. Steemit is a great platform whether you are earning good or not because it is also a good outlet for everybody when they feel low or when they want to share their extreme happiness around them. There are a lot of groups/community/discord where you can feel at home or "belongingness" if there's a term for that. Help your friends that you know are feeling disappointed, help them get engaged with diff. communities here. :)

Sometimes when no one is looking I play a xylophone with my dogs toothbrush!

and i dance like a silly weird one when nobody is looking. LMAO XD

Like a wacky wavy inflatable tube man?

HAHA! exactly! LOL when life is kinda boring sometimes, create your own world! wahahahahahah

Definitely an educational ARTICLE:) I’ve been writing a lot ( not really lol) but sometimes I still get confused about it and how to differentiate them. Thanks for helping doing the research and share it here :)

Hive Bee trail comment.jpg Vote.

Thanks for spreading love @thehive <3

@thehive thanks for stopping by!

I look forward to seeing more of your artworks as well @adam.tran! I got excited to draw again because of our conversation earlier on Discord. :)

Hey nice post, with some good points.

A lot of Steemians that pour passion into their writing, videos, music, and/or photography get paid less than many Steemians that just simply post.

Steem(it) is a game ! Voting Bots and Vote trading are constant factors in the equation. Usage of voting bots is more and more a must if you want to get a wider visibility. Vote trading is important to get an initial boost for your post, to have chance to be "hot".

So if you just rely on doing your thing without investing a lot or having a "clan" behind you, helping to push your content, i feel like steem is, at the moment, not the right place.
And like in the "real" world, it also depends on the readerships. Why does a supermodel have way more followers on "Instragram" than exorbitant scientist? It is the rule of attraction (youtube has a great video about it, just "yougle"). One more example?! Sure, let us check out "introduceyourself", here a young beautiful woman and there a young man. I wont talk about the value of the post, but it seems to be clear that a lot more people have been attracted to her post.

Enough rambling, the rule of attraction is always a factor. You can research an article for days and put your soul in it, but always take a look at your audience.

I agree that you must have symbiotic support groups and invest in the system to advance on Steemit, no question. I am just pushing for those support groups, or "clans" as you call them, to have requisites for conscious, well documented, professional content from their members.

And yes it is true that with all else even, a cute girl will usually get more attention than a guy, however that is never the only factor at play on a platform like this. This is anything but Instagram.

i hope somebody is going to upvote our comments, or it will be dusty dust dust.

I honestly compare steemit atm with sometime like clash of clans. Investors are on the top and have the ability to grow way faster than we "plankton" can. Like i mentioned already somewhere else, i would definitly go a route like that heajin guy does, like 40/60 split between upvoting my own content and upvoting other content.

And no, but it is a factor! It influences your initial audience and can make your life here on steem harder or easier. Did you know about steepshot? Just to say, we really aren't instagram. Diversification is the thing i love on this platform

Why not just post a pic without having a % taken?

What do you mean? Sharing pictures via steepshot and don't get paid? or did you address something else, pretty unsure!

I have been seeing this infamous haejin, like he is either loved or detested. Who is he? Enlighten me, please.

i think he is a clever investor, bringing daily charts (5-10) and more or less shows possible patterns. he has a world full of SP, which made his votes 60$ heavy. Pretty unsure if it changed but he has a 95% selfupvoting. Don't like it, but to be really honest i don't mind it. He is playing the game. 18k$ the month is totally fine, since he invested a lot, which brings some attention to my point above!

Thank you. I was told there is nothing wrong with self upvoting as long as you get more than 0.03 for your self vote, otherwise it is just a dust. But I think I am beginning to understand now that concept of self voting where you reward yourself more rather than rewarding the person who owns the post.

There is nothing wrong with it in my opinion, but there should be a good ratio between both. Steem is a community thing so everyone should be as supportive as possible. Other reason might be the downvote festivals starting to kill your earnings

Yes, I agree. There should be a balance so that more minnows will be able to progress that they may be able to help other minnows in the future. Similar to the concept of food chain but here on Steemit, smaller fish need big fish to somehow survive through their upvotes.

Steemit can be treated like a game. Robots are not required but is a major factor in a aspect of the game. A common cheat code if you will. Steemit can be won without cheat codes!

Okay, so we need to talk something. He totally lost it in this design of comments , subcomments, even subbier comments and the subbiest comments. Right now, it is in my eyes, but a lot of good stuff is developed on the steem blockchain(steempay for example), which will it make more than a game.

thanks for this.. i am ALL about content.. GOOD original content.. IF someone took hours taking a photo and have taken something that no amateur could then that is cool,, but generally i support GOOD well thought out written posts.. at least 500 words..

Today i am starting an initiative to support and bring more exposure to those who do this as I totally agree that Steemit should be mostly decent post that really have value and are interesting and prompt engagement..

cheers!

Nice! We need more initiatives like that!

That's great to hear! Word counts always turn me off but I understand without them all you will get is a "Great post" without punctuation or attempts at it even.

Great post XD

I'm laughing out loud, sister @dynamicshine!!! Your comment above actually made me roll on the floor laughing. (I could have just typed LOL, sis, ROTFL, but I want my comment to be longer than

LOL sis, ROTFL!!!

WAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

When we take a look at the two words “Post” and “Publication”. I can assure you that we are actually talking about two different terms.
In this article we are talking about two different terms which is a “Post” and “Publication”. Let us analyse the word “post”.
Though, when you say “Post” you will actually be thinking of saying you are publishing a message. But looking at it from this angle, for you to post a short or long messages that is not up to five to ten pages of cover and we call that publishing. It is actually not an original publishing. Though a post is said to be the act of publishing something such as message or picture either from a website or using social media
A post is based for only fan page. Post will never reach entire audience every time. Posts are known as blogs regularly published thinking them as a new updates. Basically you can control many posts display so far you are part of the via admin dashboard.
Notes: Mot URL for a post usually include the publication date. Post usually appear most time on social medias like facebook, twitter, instagram and many more.

Publication is the act of publishing and with that publishing means making information available to the public. They are done most times with issuing printed copies known as documents. Publication is mostly published through contract managed by a website owner or a main owner. Publication have processed and practiced used by book publishing industry like ISBN (International Standard book number), Bibliographic data, copyright and more. These processes usually support the help of underlying the status which is ensuring availability to citizen and most businesses. It usually contain identification by book trade and library all around the community for a long time public period.

NOTE: Publication is for a longtime public record but post is deleted as at when due. That one of the most practical difference of post and publication.

Yes post and publication are two different terms, I was pretty clear about that. Where did you get your information about a publication having to be at least 10 pages? I haven't found any requisite like that in my research.

It is true that posts will not reach an entire audience every time, but that is also true for articles and a little beside the point. In addition all Steemit posts, whether a post or publication, are technically dated.

Although it is true that some publications have printed copies, most do not these days. There are way more online publications than printed ones, otherwise there would be a lot more wasted paper.

Furthermore, we publish to the Steemit blockchain, there is nothing more permanent than that. Anything published on Steemit in managed by Steemit and its authors. Also, posts on other social media like Facebook are not deleted, at least not automatically. So how are those not long-time public records? Especially if that person's posts are public?

All I was saying is that you cannot call your work a publication if it is not mostly original material, which is VERY true. Otherwise it is someone else's publication that has been stolen. And also that a post of just a few lines of text with a couple photos is just general information and is not considered a publication, regardless if that post is dated and permanent or not.

Sorry I am just super confused by some of the things stated here. I think I addressed everything, thank you for your input.

Yeah. I agree with you.. I have learnt more from you.. You wouldn't believe me if i tell you we were busy debating on this before coming through this post.. You really stated those points neccessary.. Kudos to you.. Nice job...

I could learn a lot from @elamental, like we did here if I was helping him water those girls while he was getting sunburned at the beach😮! Have you spoke with @elamental before this post @adewararilwan?

No need for a family lawyer with @elamental! He is the lawyer!

Where did you image source the wiki picture😈?

lol, my point of not sourcing that was to show that when sources are obvious, it is unnecessary to cite them. That is Wiki's TM'd logo, it came from Wikipedia...

When it comes to using images that are not yours for commercial use, it is a big deal legally especially if it's trademarked.

Maybe if I said it was my original logo that would apply, or maybe if it wasn't such a big company. If they really want to sue me over it they can go ahead. I will make more off posting about the lawsuit then they could possibly sue me for... I don't make enough for it to be worth it for them. Now, if I was making considerably more on my articles, I would properly cite everything FOR SURE. Until then... not necessary, only in certain situations.

You touched on some fine points concerning the law. Its just advised to play it safe and always source. Helpful if you want to participate in key/elite contests. I would say you're doing well on your post rewards though. If I could get rewards like this on two posts a day I would be making 4 because I could live off the rewards your getting.I'm'm also not a super talented writer like you!

I was politely asked to try and keep my posting to 2 a day, but def no more than 3. If i do four or more, I will take away too much from the rewards pool in one of my groups. I show respect for my tribe and adhere to this request.

Just remember when your a talented writer like yourself people will emulate you and copy your style. They may not know copywrite law as well as you do. Is all im saying. Your not wrong and following the fine points of copywrite law your post is 100% ok.

Also, its important for members who want to participate with groups like quator to follow the rules they have for things strict image sourcing.

Please read the comment section here in this post. There are currently major laws regarding this issue in play. Artists and content creators will be getting more rights/ greater abilities to sue over content that is theirs.

Not using other people's writing and images without permission is a good rule to live by here on Steemit. And def cite things you use from major online sources... unless it is super obvious you are not claiming the content as your own, and who's content it is.

Good article...

Not so great comment. You can do better my friend!

HAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Muwhahahaha!
