I would like to apologize!

For what you say? For muting you.

I was bragging about Steemit over father’s day with my young adult children. They were asking good questions. As the conversation continued I couldn’t answer their questions about muting. I thought muting someone would keep them out of my “feed”. As I saw it, the choice was follow or mute. My son pointed out that if I wasn’t following said person, they shouldn’t be in my “feed”. Touché. So last night I googled “what does muting on steemit do”. Well the first few results claimed, “not much”. As I continued on I came to this understanding. Mute is a way to hide what an individual may post about something I posted or commented on. It doesn’t mean that their post is deleted, only hidden from me in my “replies” tab. Some of the search results explained it is a way, to stop seeing inappropriate, harassing or trolling posts from the muted individual. Well that makes a whole lot more sense. So with my new understanding and the desire to do the right thing, I have corrected my, for lack of a better word, inappropriate use of the mute button by un-muting every one I had muted. It was never my intention to “mute” anyone, sorry if I offended.

If anyone can give more information about the mute button or correct my interpretation of it I would appreciate the input. I am always willing to learn.
