Just lost $3.54 through down voting ...why me?
Why me? Why not the blogs that suck and get $95.00, why aren't they down voted today? A pyramid scheme rigged by a few...

Why do you even care? Expressing negativity perpetuates it. Keep trucking and stay positive. Lead by example.

Then rein in people who are basically stealing my money!
@ matt-a
You probably don't care because you get nice high money for your blogs!

@smooth flagged everything I posted and down voted it all so I will be at a minus...
@snowflake
And by the way, I am an old user NOT a new one!

@snowflake I'm curious. What's your take on the experiment?

I think it's great. Anything that challenges statut quo is good in my book. The existing system is not scalable and do not incentivize people to power up.
The main takeaway so far is that most users are trying to protect their own interests above the community's interests. And the only people who actually act for the benefits of the whole community ( smooth,abit,etc..) are being slandered. To me this is a pretty bad sign.
Also this experiment reinforced my view that if you want money to be mixed with social media it should be completely abstracted. No payout displayed, just a wallet that users can check from time to time to see if they have earned more. The emotional rollercoster is coming from the fact that payout are shown publicly. The first website to use steem striclty as a background thing without any mention of money will be the winner.

What are you talking about? @smooth is automatically downvoting anything except for what his buddies write, what he is actually doing is stealing money, nothing less, he is a thief, I think the only way you can be in favor of this crap is if you are getting some benefit out of it, cause everybody else is getting fucked, I mean someone writes a very good article which is voted accordingly and out of nowhere comes this asshole and downvotes it to 0, how in the hell is this going to help this platform, you explain that to me, but in real terms, not some kind of philosophical crap.

I think it is more about the content you are posting that matters. I have posted articles in various categories and watched as some did well but then with a couple of downvotes, or whatever, saw earnings drop like a rock. Then other articles did nothing but shoot up in earnings.
It is really about what you post and if others find value in it. Unfortunately, it seems that you have been posting in a category that has some users with a lot of influence that feel your content is not worthy.
You can maybe try another category and see how things go there? I am still feeling my way around and seeing what interests me enough to write, and pays well enough for me to focus my attention there.

Elewarne, I enjoy you being here as part of this community but it is important to remember that any payout on your posts or comments is not your until it pays out, until that point it is in a decision phase by the platform. If that doesnt suite you then maybe check out @lukestokes method to hide all the dollar signs while you are viewing steemit.com I hope this help and I hope you stick around.
