This is going to be a long piece but I would try to make it as conversational as possible...
Not only is this a very controversial issue, it is also a sensitive one and I finally see why..
Feminism in a simple approach preaches equality of the sexes in society( not family).
It would be important that there are societies where the woman's voice is stifled to the extreme..
At some point , I think feminists lost the true reason for its movement ...
I don't want to say society made them hate men or their relationship with men made them hate men but they became too RADICAL..
I remember reading Buchi Emecheta's Second Class Citizen and calling her a stubborn woman at the end...
From her story her husband was annoying but she might have been a little self centered...
He might have been lashing out on a woman who didn't try to communicate to his emotions, i still don't know the situation that turned him into a narcissist cause his eventual decisions were barbaric and inexcusable
So many woman knowing they are going to spend the rest of their life with a man don't even bother to study the man as an entity different from her...
I don't know how many feminist understand that in as much as life is difficult for the woman growing from childhood, nurturing herself as a young girl to full womanhood , the young man is in a constant battle, with finding a place in society.
I want to strike out the word equality and replace it with fairness or equity ..
I believe that the synergy of a man and woman is a partnership..
From the Bible , we discover God commanding the woman to respect her husband as her head..
God also told the man to take care of the woman in his care at this point I think neighbour should be added(we all know just how many form of man- woman relationships the world keeps creating)
Feminism has sprouted many brands.. From Sisterhood,Woman-ism to even Gynandrism, this last term houses men who see the need for the crusade of fairness to womanhood..
No woman should see herself as equal to the man because she isn't.. A woman is a beautiful and unique being..
Woman aren't physical or emotional slaves to men ..
Men aren't financial slaves to women...Let harmony lead
The devil has been fighting so many structures God created.. From the holiness of worship to the integrity of clergymen... But of late his winning plot is the FAMILY!
If the family and its beauty of harmony is broken then a Babylonian situation in society is very easy.. ( if you know you know)
Feminism might want to take a back sit in the face of mans inhumanity to man .. In this case woman's inhumanity to woman... This days women fight their fellow women in the name side chick and what not...
Feminists might even be fighting a woman's peace of mind in her home by questioning her decision to be solely a housewife...
It is not easy to wake up everyday to take care of a home and nurture the children in a the family... ( being a housewife can be a full time job)
I would exclude from this analogy women who leave the house duties solely to the slaves they call maids and still nag about the very air they breath...
Let's give the girl child hope.. She isn't coming into a society fighting the structure God had already perfectly created... She is not solely an object for a man's gratification she is a unique and beautiful being who like everyone should make heaven at the end ...
Not enter a situation that might question her goals in life and excludes her from making certain decisions even before she thinks of them....
I decided to write this because I noticed the reaction this topic raised .
Am not perfect, just sharing thoughts I hope would create a rethink in someone and thereby promote positivity....
