Edited post
I think there has been improvement. I am happy to see hf19 post today. I think they are learning fast!

Why are the steem Devs so bad. They create amazing code that solves the wrong problems. Steemit might be the easiest program ever developed to figure out what the customer wants? They tell you and others vote on it!

The activity stats continue to decline after hf18 because they addressed the problems they wanted to address and ignored the needs of the community.
Flatten the reward curve now!
We know that they know is an issue because of post examining different reward curves but why have they not addressed it? It's killing the platform. Can we switch to a new core dev team? I think anyone would do a better job.
