Steemit Essentials - The Sexiest Bot on the Internet

I have used @ginabot for notifications especially since starting out, and funny enough, wrote the same kind of post some time ago...it is worth repeating for sure! I like that she's on Discord and is easily visible to me.

But then along came steemworld.org, which I keep open at all times; if you don't use it, check it out. It may be a future post for you:) It now also includes notifications, so on my laptop, it's giving ginabot a run for her money haha I got used to receiving notifications from @ginabot, but I turned her off to try steemworld instead, because it really is a one-stop shop; seriously it has everything you need there. I'm trying to decide which I prefer, but @steemchiller, who created steemworld is doing a fantastic job with updates. It even has a manual vote slider if you don't have the 500 SP required for the automatic one, but it also lets you know of comments received, incoming/outgoing votes, your financial status on here, bandwidth, voting power almost everything.

I'm not bad mouthing @ginabot though, because she is pretty darn amazing and this is the type of information that new people especially need to hear!

It's like I have two best friends and I'm not sure who to hang out with haha

Thanks so much @lynnecoyle1. This is exactly the type of feedback I was seeking. 4 months on Steemit and this is the first I heard about steemworld. Very cool. I'm going over to check it out. Surely, it seems deserving of some sort of review.

How can I change my VP percentage? If I adjust the slider in the steemworld, it does not apply when I vote or I can't do that yet? At what point should I be able to?

It's a bit more work than that, but it's worth it. This may seem complicated, but it will be worth it in the end, and it's simply once you do it a few times.

You have to go down to "Tools", then "Manual Vote" and you'll see the slide adjuster there. Then go to "Account Operations" further up and click on the comment that you want to upvote. It will "open up" and you'll see "Parent Permalink". Copy that and paste back in "Tools-Manual Vote" where it says "link". The "author" spot should automatically fill in...make sure you're upvoting the correct author.

Like I said, it seems complicated, but is so simple once you try it a few times. You'll be able to vote so many more times by using it. Let me know if you get stuck. I've been meaning to write a post explaining it, so now that is on my list of to-do's tomorrow :)

when you go to copy, click 'copy link adress' and make sure you're copying "parent permalink"and pasting in "link"

My suggestion (for everyone who does video posts) is to still write a short synopsis of what's in the video, for those of us with sketchy wifi who can't always watch them. I can read a whole post or two in the time it takes longer videos to buffer...and when it comes to dtube, I have yet to get it to work at all.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will write some longer summaries. That is solid advice. Yes, I'm very disappointed in Dtube lack of progress on sorting out issues. I'm afraid they may have killed their brand by releasing before they were ready. In any event, if they sort it out I will post there because I prefer to stay on the Steem blockchain.

I didn't like GINAbot that much at first. I didn't like the beeping. I thought about muting it, but then I would inevitably be looking at a different tab and wouldn't know when something happened.

Now, though, after quite a few weeks of using it, I actually look forward to the beeps. It means something is happening with my account.

I do, however, also have steemworld.org open. It has different ways of viewing what GINAbot provides, and more. Plus it's formatted differently and sometimes it's easier to see or figure out what's just happened.

I use them both all day, along with Steemit. So, I would say they've all become important tools for me.

@ginabot is the best! love the many features they build in it especially the part where you can get notified when somebody you like (put their name in the settingsform) writes a post!
