A Quora post I made, ~04/2016, and updated today.
Quora is an entirely walled garden, and I wish that it would stop being so.
Quora's walled garden is preventing me from getting my Quora posts onto my blog, and quite frankly it is causing me to have negative thoughts on quora generally, even though using Quora has been almost a transformation for me. While others shouldn't be able to use my content, I should be. The fact that I can't use my own content freely on the web bugs me. I don't know if quora takes the copyright for user posts or not, but that would be the final straw for me. Mostly right now the issue for me is the lack of an API.
Quora should make it so that its users can get their content out of Quora easily!
Added July 19th 2016:
I stopped using Quora because it alienates me from my creations.
You can find my Quora writing on Steemit.
Think once, twice, three times, before spending significant time on Quora. They simply do not try hard enough. What’s trying hard look like? Well, for one thing, steemit.
From the comments:
So, yeah, like all of my code and business plans and literally everything I publish and do, this article itself is not copyrighted. The only way that you can violate my copyright policies about my work is to copyright it or limit others freedom to modify and redistribute. This should not be so difficult.
Great idea. We use a lot of VAs to publish / post original content on Quora. Moving to Steemit is a no-brainer.
Going to map out a strategy to incorporate into our workflow.

Why put content in Quora's garden when Steemit's got a very nice one, you know?
