Bitcoin heading to $3,000?

It occurred to me that people haven't been talking about the Bitcoin price recently and thought I would check up on the price on Coinbase. As I'm writing this the price is currently around $2935, at a brand new all time high. It's surprising me that this isn't being talked about. In the past when Bitcoin has hit an all time high it is all you hear anybody who is involved in cryptocurrency talk about. Not that that this is a bad thing, when the price of Bitcoin is silently allowed to creep up it usually fairs better and the price will be more stable.

So why isn't it being talked about?

The only conclusion that I can come to is steemit. Within the last month or so, more and more YouTubers and people within the cryptocurrency community have been more focused on steem than anything else. These are the people with influence, who can influence what people do, and many people are finding success on steemit right now. While everyone's attention has been focused towards steem, Bitcoin's price has steadily been able to rise in value, letting us see both the values of steem and Bitcoin rise, which is great.
