Successful Steemit Gift-Giving Funded Event: Making 10 Less Fortunate Families Happy During Christmas. The Genuine Love Made our Year Special!

I am deeply emotional to witness, interviewed and visit the areas where the families live. The places are not well-constructed due to lack of facilities, poor hygienic conditions, rubbish surrounding the area, living with 4-7 children in the family. 

Most of them are street children, beggars, uneducated ones. The main source of income are parents who are construction workers, making hanging rice, carpenter, pedicab driver, earning $3 to $5 a day.

 These families are mostly fire victims, however, despite these obstacles, there is hope. Smiles on there faces, learning how to survive with the little they have and faith that they can overcome the situation.

Thanks for our Street Educators who guide and keeping us safe to the place and find families that are capable of giving.

Last December 18, 2017. @Steemph.cebu hosted the Gift-Giving Event . Yayy! Over 50 Volunteers including Steemians attended, 56 people in the family, and the rest were part of the government sector along with the Street Coordinators.

Two days before the event: We repacked the goods. 

• 10kilos of rice 
• Noche Buena (Traditional food we prepare on Christmas Eve)
• Personal Hygiene goods
• Little Monetary Amount

On the event date, volunteers and steemians came early to help with the decorations, arranging the chairs, setting up the venue, projector and stuffs. 

The Emcee was awesome, they made us happy and make the event interactive and energetic! So much fun!

We also have games that steemians can participate, It is called Steemit Hooray. Each Steemians will represent each family, so they have to be good , so that the family that they assigned will win a prize.

Furthermore, kids also prepare a dance presentation. They did sing as well.

We ended up with a signature  sign, lighting up the candles forming a heart with Steemit logo in the center. These candles symbolize love. The genuine love that Steemit provides made our year incredibly special. And we thank you for everyone for making this event worth-remembering!   

The blessing that Steemit gave to the family, friends, community, for the unemployed, for the ordinary, for the students , less fortunate etc., is surprising and heart-warming. I believe in Steemit, because Steemit do care for us. <3
