Why People Give Up So Easily On This Platform | My Chat With One Time SteemiansteemCreated with Sketch.

After an eventful day yesterday, I decided to say “Hi” to one of my friends whom it has been long I heard from him. We both signup on this wonderful steemit platform same day and since his approval, he has been posting good stuffs that I so much appreciated.

He posts stories, sports, and some of his photographic events and posted consistently for 3weeks. I now noticed that since the past one week, he hasn’t posted anything which is unusual of him.

Below are our conversations;

Why People Give Up

Improper Orientation: majority of steemit new members especially (Nigerians), when visiting steemit website for the first time, it shows Trending Posts and one will be like wow, this small small posts making $200. You will now be calculation “If I post 40 times a month and if at least each of my posts makes $100, which makes a lot of sense”. Na sweet?

Although, if someone is well composed on his/her first post (introduceyourself, introducemyself) and using a nice picture, one may likely be welcomed with over $100 then, the problem starts when you want to move on. You may post 20 times and not get more than $0.01 on each post. That is why you will see people repeating introduceyourself.

Steemit platform is not quick money. Whenever we’re introducing steemit to someone, we need to let them know how lovely steemian is and how to engage people with good contents.
Truly, when you spend hours composing a post, and people neither comment nor upvote and you see some trending posts that you believe is not better than your post, you may be discouraged as human. The thing is, those people getting a lot of trending posts also pass through your stage but they were determined and consistent with what they do. Their success is never over-night.

Please!!! know that everything you need is already within you, be great and never surrender.

I think part of the problem is the bots
If bots do your voting you have no incentive to read others.
No amount of hard work will get a bot
To vote for you.

Bots can actually vote for you. Steemvote can help you vote some selected accounts if you are too busy to vote. They are here on steemit too @steemvoter account. I doubt the bots in steemit may be the reason he dropped as I believed human presence on here outweigh that of the bots. You'll agree with me that the bots are like a two-edged swords that cut both ways. Most of them are actually doing some good. The bad ones are getting heavily downvoted too. Thank you.

You nailed it @greenrun, you still can't compare human presence with bot.

There were times I also wanna quit because of frustration but I have a friend that always gimme confidence. This happens everywhere and I think its normal.

Keep the confidence high. Be consistence, I believe greatness awaits you

You've said it all. Wrong orientation sums it all. When the expectation ain't met, people are quick to drop along the way.

Especially our Naija people. No time
