Steemit.Chat is a busy place with thousands of Steemit users using it everyday. For the longest time I've been thinking of running a contest for users of Steemit's preferred communication platform. But, I've been lacking ideas for running the contest. Perhaps you can help me with it?
I'm looking for some interesting ideas that can be executed on Steemit.com as well as on a channel in Steemit.Chat for users of this platform.
We can run it in a new contest specific channel or in the busy General channel. Any user that is not blacklisted by @cheetah on Steemit.com is welcome to participate.
I plan on taking this contest live from the 9th of October. Entries will be accepted until this post pays out.
- Please post all your suggestions in a single comment.
- Multiple ideas are welcome, more the merrier.
- Recommend a contest hashtag.
- It needs to be executable every week.
- Suggest any specific rules & parameters along with your idea.
- It can be something simple and fun.
- I need be able to run these contests on Steemit.Chat as well as Steemit.com but they need to be related to the chat platform in some way.
a. Example 1: We could run a contest where you can nominate your favorite channel on Steemit.Chat—perhaps the channel owner could win this.
b. Example 2: In General channel at a specific time we could run a random number game between any two digits and I could use a random number generator to decide the winner. - If it gets popular and creates greater engagement I will consider running it more regularly.
The best idea will get all the SBDs from this post.

I've been waiting for a contest from you for a long time, and I'm going to follow the contest later.
My suggestion for the contest later, what about the contest about the theme of education?
This theme does not have to be what we learn in school, but about what we like and what we usually do and then we share it with the steemians.
For example like a post in my blog, I share about my work on campus, and in it there is a new learning that I can share with the steemians.
At the beginning of the title I gave the title "What Do You Learn Today?". This means that every day we do there must be learning in it 👍.

i would like to suggest game like you have to give some words and we have to make one post according to it or any comment with that all words include and put exact photo of it. like example words are love family and restaurant so we have to make post with our beloved or with family photo upload in that contest.
pet is common with all and we can also say selfie with pet in where we have to take selfie with pet and all participate have to take selfies with pet and have to upload in post.
traditional art as all around the world people have different traditions and they have to upload tradition which represent their country and through it we get to see different they of traditional work from all around the world.
every week new them like one week competition of beach photography then next week temple then next week old structure then next week mountain or sport or anything which you want to like.

My idea is to create a kind of steemit trivia. Trivia questions can be asked on observed events and people on steemit. Examples of such questions include:
Such questions derived from keen observations and trends during the week.
The tag will be #steemtrivias
The rules involves the trivia questions answered within limited time so as to allow for true and original observed answers.

My Idea:
We can create a chat channel for this purpose called Steemit chat contest channel!
Then introduce a picture for MEME at the beginning of each week in the said channel, every contestant will send link of their work back to the channel with a hashtag 'steemitchat-contest' in which the person that comes up with more up votes at the end of the week emerges a winner.

The random number game seems like a really nice idea. However, I am thinking that this should be resteemed as I am planning on doing to get more audience and a new channel can be created on Steemit.Chat, instead of using the General Channel where the random number game can be played, and whatever contest that may be conducted in the future. I would suggest Channel name: "ROLLING STEEM". This is my little recommendation. I hope it will be useful and I also hope I can resteem.

There are five questions which are answered by different Steemians in the end making a story. Best stories get awarded which means those five Steemians participating in the story get awarded.

Using what?

In the end making something like this: Carl and Mary hit an anagram with a joint holder doing what they were told to.
I guess the first contest would be defining the questions and forms to use as english is not my native language.

You can create contest of writing, in various fields, such as Arts, science, envirnment, sports, blockchain,crpto currency, problems of youths, psychology, music art work poetry etc in any fields. You can asks for writings from any fields by limiting the limits of words,grammer etc lots more. You can also locked the time limit of the contest and also make it in continent wise. well i like your idea, sometimes ago, in the PAL discord channel where they run live radio broadcast and other steem users could listen live and comment through the discord channel. i am part of them and have witnessed a time when they started a context by accepting users having less that 400 SP ,,, they gave each qualified members a number and then throw a dice, whichever number that show, the winner gets about 1000SP delegation for 2 weeks.

I am new here on steemit, but I have a couple of suggestions.
My suggestions are; The steemit.chat should have voice channels.
The steemit.chat should have a feature that shows the last time any user was active or online.
And lastly, the steemit.chat should have a whatsapp-like status bar for users where individuals can express their present self.

This is really a very nice initiative man! Ok let me give you my idea of a contest that I think can be a great one, hope you like it.
By doing the contest I will explain below, you will help in making people read others post, which is actually a big problem on the platform. We got so less readers out there.
So the idea is that you pick your favorite post of the day and saved it somewhere! It can be a minnow post or a whale post, it all depends on you.
Now the game starts...Each hour you give a hint about the post on steemitchat...like the tag used...the user rep score...some words written in the post...second tag used...
The users on steemit chat have to go and find that post and drop a comment on the post. The one finding the post first is the winner.
You can name the contest : Findme!!!

who can bring SBD the "most" into real life with a set amount of SBD ( little so everyone can participate) fe I convinced my taxi driver to accept SBD, I bought this T Shirt with SBD etc.
Obvious not I bought xx amount of BTC or so. Would have to be SBD.

Another idea would to make an education contest. Every person would post something they have knowlege about and educate others. The chat would be used to ask questions or go over homework.

"Making a Difference" . This is a topic for contest that comes to my mind. We all live in a society which is existing in a zombie like stupor. Nobody cares about anything but wants everything. And there are a few people around us who are constantly making efforts, without government help, to create better living environment for all. And such people are everywhere. USA, Netherlands, India, China -everywhere. People can create posts about such stories. Maybe the person himself has done some deed that made a positive difference in someones life. The best story on "Making a Difference" can be awarded :)
Another topic that comes to my mind is - "The Most original and quality content on steemit" . Steemit needs this. This encourages people to share "value posts" .
