Trolling may well, but we need to figure out a way to kill the pointless bots that spam every new post. Over time I expect that the quality of steemit will increase as the kinks get worked out. One fear I have is a very wealthy person could buy lots of influence and become the ultimate troll.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
