Steem, SBD and SP giveway posts are all over the place on Steemit these days. It seems that every one in 5 authors is posting a giveaway blog, but if you look more carefully, those posts tend to earn 5x to Steemit knows what of amount offered in the giveaway. What's the purpose of giveaway if you are going to earn 10 times more of the giveaway amount? Showing that you are generous or what?
It's like giving away medical equipment to those in need while earning 10x more in cash from grattitudes.
It's interesting how this goes, though. What do you think?

They do it for the upvotes...and then the new followers...all the new followers and upvotes allow them to pay out the prize money, then do the same thing again in a few days, this then gives them even more followers, and the process repeats
